News: Music Submission: New Rule
After a brief conversation with SNN, we have decided to implement a new and very minor rule involving the use of ADSR.

From now on, ALL music submissions may not use a decay value greater than 7.

There are two main reasons for this. The first is that hacks that use Carol's $E5 more.bin cannot handle decay values past 7. The other issue is that no SNES song (that I've come across) uses a decay greater than 7, as it is (most likely) not actually capable of being done on an SNES.

Technical Information:
ADSR can be broken into two bytes; the Attack and Decay byte, and the Sustain and Release byte. The way these two values are put into one byte is through bits. In the attack decay byte the lowest four bits are used for attack. (which yield values from $x0 to $xF). The decay bits are all of the remaining bits except the highest. These yield values from $1x to $7x.

So basically don't make W in $ED $WX $YZ greater than 7.

Have a swell day.

Nothing will happen to the old songs, at least not yet. Perhaps if I get an assistant, I can focus on getting these fixes done.

What happens to the currently approved music breaking this rule?

So are you gonna be looking for songs that break this rule again?

I was about to say there's already enough Japanese ports to convince me to use Carol's then I remembered they're Japanese ports.
