Using stronger passwords does help. If they were to get read access to the database they'd find the passwords encrypted using a one-way hash. The only way to reverse that hash into a password is a brute-force attack. The longer and more complex your password, the more difficult that is.
The exploit used here involved getting encrypted passwords and using them without having to know what they actually are. It of course has been fixed. (In fact, while fixing it we discovered and fixed a more severe exploit as well. So thanks for that, suckers. ) |

Because if the hackers already know your password prior to the attack, and you do not change it, it is simply a matter of entering your account by typing it in the password field. At least by changing it, you are guaranteed more security.
Plus, it takes a mere 30 seconds. If you don't have 30 seconds in your life that you can use to do that, then chances are you shouldn't even be on the Internet anyway. |

It seems that some people misinterpret this site and its purpose, since its been hacked everyonce in a while.
Don't think that the site has any errors (and if, that they'll be fixed), but more that the admins and mods should use safer passwords.
Btw, nice new layout, looks better than the dark one.
