Question:What exactly is transferring?
Answer:Transferring means exactly as it sounds. This is the process of transferring everything from one ROM to another, including levels, graphics, the overworld, and more!
Question:Why would I need to do this?
Answer:Well, some programs have a very slim chance of corrupting your ROM. If this happens, you'll want to take all of your progress and move it to a new ROM. 90% of the time, most of your levels will still be intact!
Question:How do I export and reimport levels?
Answer:You'll have to go to File -> Save Level to File within Lunar Magic, or use the Ctrl + S shortcut. Name your file whatever you'd like, though usually naming it the level number makes it easier to organize (i.e. 105.mwl) After that, open your new ROM, go to File -> Open Level from File, choose your .mwl file, and save. Repeat this process for each level.
Question:How do I transfer the graphics?
Answer:Thankfully, you'll already have an ExGraphics and Graphics folder from your other ROM, so just copy these to your new ROM location, and follow the process for inserting ExGFX as usual.
Question:How do I transfer the overworld?
Answer:This method often confuses most people, though it isn't too complicated. Open Lunar Magic with the and the overworld editor you want to transfer. Leave this overworld in the OW editor, and open your new ROM within Lunar Magic. Go back into the overworld editor, move an object, and save both the OW and the current level in LM. The only problem is that you'll need to redo palettes, but it's either that or the entire overworld from scratch.
Question:How do I transfer the level palettes?
Answer:Simply click on File -> Palettes -> Export Shared Palettes from ROM. Once you are done that, open your new ROM and use Import instead of Export.
