Tip: When making your overworld, mix the terrain up! Angled land is much more interesting than square land

All.log++ is the combined efforts of the Super Mario World Disassembly and Commentary project, which is now in a unknown state since etherpad is going down. Compiled here is the source code of Super Mario World, made by MikeyK, but with a large amount of routines clarified with labels, comments, and code explanations.

Backgrounds, Levels & Events
Added: 2008-09-22 12:10:57 AM
Some castles require a special level number and event number for the cut scene to work. All the backgrounds are listed so you can stop searching for them, you can just look at the list and insert it. This saves a lot of time.cyphermur9t

List of Levels 1 - 1FF in order.
Added: 2009-07-21 10:07:16 AM
This is a Notepad folder which has the entire list of level addresses in one long line of code.

This may be very useful if people want to add notes to each level or check some of them off.

I have also put at the top of the file exactly which addresses are levels and which are rooms.
Reader's note(s): I couldn't really find an use for this, but meh. This file does not say what the level is for.

List of Mario's Poses
Added: 2008-03-06 06:14:40 AM
Ram Address $13E0 controls Mario's pose. This is a list of every single value you can set $13E0 to, and what Mario's pose will look like for each value.

This list is extremely helpful if you're making a custom block or sprite do some wacky things to Mario, such as cause status effects or custom powerups. Get creative and see what you can come up with. :D

SNES Knowledge Base v1.50
Added: 2009-11-08 02:05:48 PM
A massive collection of SNES technical documents. This is an old collection, though, and there are errors, but still definitely worth a look.

Contains various files in plain text and HTML formats. Even the .DOC files are plain text!

The documents in this collection were made by various authors, and compiled together by Qwertie. This very zip file was hosted on Qwertie's own Geocities page, until Yahoo took down Geocities last month. I am posting it here for 2 reasons: I don't believe this wealth of information should die, and because I do believe this information will benefit ROM Hackers here on SMW Central.

Reader's note: Recommended for people who want to pull off really advanced stuff using SNES hardware.

Sprite Clippings
Added: 2008-12-23 12:53:50 PM
64 screenshots of every Sprite Clipping value programmed into SMW. This was retrieved from mikeyk's IPS patch that displayed them, but have been assembled into screenshots for easy reference!

The dark blue box is the 16x16 sprite, the red dots mark the corners of the collision data boundaries for that clipping value.
