The DSi is very impervious, they've learned from their mistakes.
The Wii's IOS was actually outsourced by a company named BroadOn. Seems like they have no concept of security; the exploit holes are more gaping than goatse on the Wii.

I think we should make it a forum rule to never mention goatse. God damn it, the memories of that image. Get it away from me.
Anyway, Wii homebrew doesn't even strike me as that interesting anyway. Just a couple emulators is all I'd really care about. But even then, It's not worth the trouble.
I turned my Wii into my home media centre rather than dust attractor.

Damn it, my wired networking somehow failed, so I'm using this wireless adapter. Works well with Ubuntu, my experiences with using in Debian were hell...

Isn't there ips.pl - I found it once on the internet, worked for me patching ROMs on my BeOS system when it worked

Safe mode only loads the absolute minimum to get a display and input working, sometimes networking if you ask nicely. Just enough to get the system up and able for repair from inside.
Get MalwareBytes installed and run a full scan.

Heck, one time I faffed up the uninstall of Norton Antivirus, and iot ate up files in the computer it needed. T'was an "OMFG" moment indeed.
Not boasting about using Linux (It's easier with what's available today, but still kinda hard), but since I've stuck with Ubuntu, I've been having less issues about the system, and the fact I can freely format and reinstall at will is nice to have when I've done something to mess my system to the point of no return.
Once I update to Ubuntu 12.04, I'm staying there. I dislike the 6-month update cycle and LTS releases fill in the niche of noob who wants a stable system.
Gamma V: There are indeed ways you can block ads and close off vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, both within the program and within reliable third-party utilities (like Spybot S&D for example).
In fact, IE's had addons (BHO's) since 1994. It's user ignorance that is the key issue. That and lack of educated users. I use to believe the problem with Windows was Internet Explorer, but it was more so the user was the problem.
Now if I had to pick, I would say to use Firefox as Mozilla supports open-source and the browser has an add-on system built-in, instead of being totally reliant on Windows installers. That's the crux of Firefox, the add-on system being separated from the Windows installation.
Same with Chrome, but it appears they've got tie-ins with the developers of Angry Birds as I've seen an ad that claims you can download Chrome with Angry Birds pre-installed/pre-configured. Sickening, IMO, bur if you really, truly LOVE that game to pieces, then get Chrome.
IE had BHOs in 96/97 with IE 3.
Anyways, I prefer running LTS Ubuntu, but may switch to Debian stable. Far faster and more minimal.

You have Peggle? I accidentally got my father addicted to it; it's crack in the form of a video game.

Proposal: Convert SPCs into a format like MP3 or Ogg Vorbis on the server, and use HTML5 audio with Flash as a fallback.
Might not work well for sampling song though. In which case, we can either make it work well for samples, create a tool to do it on the author side, and then use the audio file from the ZIP.

why not use a cell phone or something?
I recommend a Sansa MP3 player if for some reason you do want a dedicated one. If you want to sod around with hacking to avoid shiTunes, iPod Shuffles are a good choice with Floola.

I don't think he's paying attention/replying anymore, Conal just performed pointless necromancy on this thread.
I said what I needed to say, we're just waiting on him.

Personally I would upgrade to a newer Sandy/Ivy Bridge core, for futureproofing and the fact it's just better.
And if the RAM is cheap, about a 5-pound difference for more gigs that fit in it, do it.

Chrysler TC. I like automobiles, but only the weird ones.
Previously, it was the SGI logo. SGI made some cool workstations, and the Indy was used as the N64 devkit.

My suggestions would:
* Move user information into the User namespace. Seriously, why the fuck is it in mainspace? Plus discussion on User talk pages would notify the user.
* Install a customized skin. I made one once, we could use that.
* Tables for all the things! Plus make sure we can use a consistent style for them.
* Upgrade to the newest MW
* And consistency for things like infoboxen and navboxen.
