Yoshi was trying to use those graphics for one of the later castles, but yoshi gave up because it was way too hard to put the tiles together. For the most part, yoshi will use Yoshi's Island graphics, Super Mario All-Stars graphics, or the Redrawn graphics in the hack. Sometimes, yoshi will use something else if none of those graphic styles match the theme of the level yoshi is working on. For example:

How would yoshi make this world 7 level using the graphic styles above?
If the graphics are too hard to assemble correctly yoshi won't use them. It's as simple as that. Yoshi will also try to stick to the three styles mentioned above.

A wild Cutoffness Man appeared!
Go yoshi!
Cutofness Man used cut!
Cutoffness Man cut the pipe in Mushroom Plateau!
What will yoshi do?
Eat >Glue
Egg Bomb Pound
Yoshi used glue!
It's super effective!
It fixed the cutoff pipe!
Cutoffness Man fainted!
Yoshi gained 50 exp.
In all seriousness though, yoshi fixed the cutoff pipe in mushroom plateau. Yoshi has also came up with two more level ideas since yesterday: The Poison Bog and The Invisible Lake. The Poison Bog is going to be a level that has toxic water and vines in it that mario must avoid. The invisible lake is going to be a water level that doesn't look like a water level. It will look like a standard level, but with the water level flag turned on. What will yoshi think of next?

Yoshi thought up a pretty silly idea for one of the castles in Super Mario World Custom 2. When this level starts, Mario starts outside the castle, and Mario must find a way in first, before he can explore the castle. Yoshi won't say how Mario is supposed to get in, but yoshi will say that that is the silly part of this level. Yoshi also worked on the Poison Bog level:

Yoshi doesn't care if you got an itch to swim, that water has a high concentration of poison ivy in it, so don't go swimming! Those purple vines are also toxic, but not as dangerous as the water.
Yoshi knows that the color of the item box is different, but it turns out that layer 3 tides and the item box share the same palette, so there is nothing yoshi can do about it.

Way ahead of you K.K.Koopa. Yoshi put two message blocks in this level that warn the player about the purple vines and the water (Neither are in the level that has the water, so I could avoid the layer 3 vanish glitch.) Yoshi will always put in a message block that warns the player of something that acts unusual (usually in a silly way).
That water really is dangerous. Mario dies instantly if he falls in the water. The purple vines and both of the plant heads only hurt mario, though.

Yoshi doesn't really mind the cost of the Nintendo 3DS, especially when you consider what the system can do. At least it doesn't cost as much as the Playstation 3 when it first came out. Yoshi plans on getting one when Mario Kart, Paper Mario, and the Ocarina of Time remake come out.

Yoshi has played all three games in the series, and yoshi likes Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door the best. It is such a shame though that it went missing, along with most of yoshi's Gamecube games. Yoshi wonders what the upcoming Paper Mario game is going to be like.

Yoshi occasionally reads the Hack Removal Logs, which is how yoshi learned about the glitches in Super Mario World. Of course, even though yoshi knows about the glitches, one of them can still slip through. It doesn't hurt if someone makes a comment about something yoshi may have missed, since yoshi may have actually forgotten about it.
Speaking of glitches, has anyone found any in Super Mario World Custom 2 that yoshi and georgevssonic missed while testing it?

Yoshi fixed that when yoshi changed the graphics for that level. Thank you for playing the hack again.
Currently, yoshi is trying to think up unusual hazards for certain levels. Yoshi could always use spikes or nonfloating munchers, but yoshi wants to be more creative than that. Of course, whenever yoshi puts some sort of hazard in the level, that isn't something obvious, like lava or spikes, yoshi will put a message in the level that warns the player of the hazard.

Right now, yoshi is trying to port the song that yoshi requested three weeks ago, so yoshi can use it in the hack. Yoshi has never done something like this before, so yoshi isn't sure if yoshi can do it, but yoshi will at least try. Of course, if this proves to be too difficult, then yoshi will just have to wait until someone more experienced in music porting than yoshi takes on the music request that yoshi posted in the request section.
Yoshi has been wondering what yoshi has done very well in yoshi's hack. Yoshi knows yoshi is doing fine with the hack, since there doesn't seem to be any major problems with the hack, but yoshi would like to know what others think yoshi is doing very well in the hack. That way, yoshi can know what yoshi should continue to do in the hack.

Here are a few funny cat pictures yoshi found.

The last time yoshi posted in this thread, yoshi thought that funny screenshots could be posted here. If yoshi wasn't supposed to post funny screenshots here, then yoshi is sorry for that.

Yoshi finally decided on a title for yoshi's hack to replace the tentative title that yoshi was using: Mario's Strange Quest.
However, yoshi isn't going to refer to it as that until yoshi submits a new version, in order to avoid confusion. Yoshi also wrote a better description for the hack, which yoshi will write here in parenthesis:
(In Mario’s Strange Quest, formally known as Super Mario World Custom 2, Mario embarks on a quest to find the seven Yoshi eggs that Bowser stole. Why did Bowser steal the eggs in the first place? You have to play to find out! If you thought this will be a typical quest, you thought wrong. You won’t always know what to expect; what kind of bizarre obstacles will Mario face on his journey?
This hack features:
-Custom graphics
-Custom music
-Custom overworld
-27 levels
-Plenty of level variety
Credit goes to Courptendo for the overworld design.
For the music and graphics that Yoshi didn’t make, credit goes to whoever made them.)
Yoshi will write that description when yoshi submits a new version.
Yoshi also has given up trying to create music for the hack; yoshi doesn't have the skill to do it. Yoshi will stick to doing things that yoshi actually can do.

Yoshi has just learned how to make hex edits to the hack. With this, yoshi will fix a few glitches and a few other changes. Here are a few things yoshi did as of righting this post:
- The glitch where music doesn't play after you beat a castle has been fixed.
- Yoshi changed the boss battle music. (this is the reason why I wanted to learn how to make hex edits.)
- The level music continues to play, even when the game is paused.
- The "TIME UP!" message has been disabled.
- Yoshi coins respawn, even if you collected all five before. (of course, this means that I have to move some of the yoshi coins to make them harder to get.)
- The item box doesn't drop its contents when mario gets hit. (You can still use select, though.)
-(Yoshi doesn't turn blue when you grab wings)
- Yoshi is making changes to the bosses to make them a little tougher.
With any of these changes, yoshi is testing them out to see if they work. Yoshi is also keeping track of what the default settings are in case yoshi screws something up.

If you are trying to return PC games, forget it. Yoshi found out that Gamespot doesn't take PC games. If you are returning any other game, then you should be able to return them.

Ok, Courptendo.
For the boss music in Wendy's Castle, yoshi used "Yoshi's Island mini Boss", which is a part of "*The Complete Yoshi's Island Soundtrack" in the music section.
In the version that is currently available, the boss music yoshi used was the default one, however, yoshi changed it to "Paper Mario - Huff 'n' Puff Battle" in the version yoshi is working on. Editing Boss music (other than Wendy and Lemmy's music) requires a hex edit, just to let you know.
As for hack updates, yoshi is now using the FastROM patch to get rid of the slowdown in Lava Cavern. Yoshi is now using the classic piranha plant in some levels (I am not using mutant ones that have fish stems or red stems). Yoshi is moving around some of the yoshi coins to make them a bit more challenging to get, as well. Cutoffness man also paid a visit and cut the bottom of those pipes in Mushroom Plateau again, so yoshi has to fix that again.

Yoshi knows that that patch won't completely eliminate slowdown, but it did speed the game up in places where it slowed down. A while back with the Lava Cavern, yoshi could play through it without the game slowing down, then it slowed down in places, even though yoshi changed absolutly nothing. Yoshi doesn't get why that happened, but at least the problem is solved now with that patch.

Yoshi didn't know that Pkhaxor; Yoshi happened to find that picture on Lolcats.com. Yoshi bets that club teaches cats karate if that's the advertisment for it. Just kidding.
Yoshi senses more lolcats nearby...

(This one is my personal favorite)

Yoshi can't tell what the game is in the second picture because yoshi doesn't see anything game related in the newspaper. However, yoshi thinks you meant to say the third picture. Either way, yoshi doesn't know what game that is.
Here are a couple more cat pictures:

Note: The sentence right before the above two pictures is lying.

Yoshi has a couple more screenshots to show for two more levels yoshi has been working on:

Look's like Larry thought ahead. How do you get in the castle now?

Pick your poison: tough platforming or a difficult puzzle?
The idea behind Larry's castle was inspired by Mario's Amazing Adventure. The way into the castle isn't quite as obvious though as it is in Mario's Amazing Adventure. As for Bowser's Castle, the player will have to choose between two paths: one that features a tough non-kaizo platforming section and one that features a tough puzzle that mario must solve. Both paths will lead to the same place though and both will have five yoshi coins.
It's not a big thing or anything, but yoshi figured out why the fifth yoshi coin in Wendy's Castle would sometimes not show up. All yoshi had to do was change the item memory index of level 94 to 1 to fix the problem.

Bowser's castle isn't finished yet. Yoshi may change some of the graphics for it, though. Yoshi had another silly idea for a stange:

Mario- Hey, look! This cave is full of coffee! Now I won't have to go to Dunkin' Donuts anymore for my morning coffee. Wait a second...
The above level is called "Caffeinated Cave" which has pools of coffee and a swooper death bat ceiling (I fixed the graphics for it). However, that coffee isn't normal. Instead of caffeine, it has what yoshi calls Hypersonic Caffeine, which, when mario drinks it, makes him so hyper, he dies. (If you are wondering where I got that term from, I made a really intense rollercoaster in Rollercoaster Tycoon and called it Hypersonic Caffeine.)
The hypersonic caffeinated coffee is yet another concoction from the fictional makers of Acid Coke, Deadly Drinks Inc. They make drinks that will have you dying for more.
Edit: Yoshi ranked up and aquired stilts.
Another Edit: Yoshi forgot to say, but yoshi fixed the rest of the perspective errors in the overworld. There should be no more errors now.
