Tip: Avoid "item babysitting". Do not force the player to drag P-Switches or springboards all around the level. This is not fun, nor does it make for interesting "puzzles".

Uh, hey, I'm new here.
I'm looking for munchers that move up and down.
An example is in Cool or Cruel, Gonzo, the second room.
Can anyone help?
Thehoundsquad
Yeah, that would work. Thanks.
Thehoundsquad's right, K3fka, it is an object. I even opened c|o|c in lunar magic in it was in layer 2. but I DO know how to use sprite tool and I elready have inserted my own working sprites.

I think all i really have to do is get a good grip on using exanimation (And maybe editing some of the block's code) And I'll be fine.
I need some blocks that are controlled via ON/OFF switch. Two, actually. One that, when the switch is ON, it acts like air, but when OFF, it kills mario. The other one is just vice versa.
I want to edit the Japanese version of SMW so I can type in Japanese (Just want to be adventerous and unique :P). Is there a way I can see all of the available symbols; not all of them appear in the txt box editor (some use codes like \xx)
How exactly?
I still need to figure out what all the symbols are.
Thanks, and I wasn't expecting you to be a japanese teacher. just a place that had all the symbols.
Well, This is the first time I've shown anything about SMW, but here goes.

Pic of my Kaizo level.

Inspired by Makjang.

I hope that throw block snake is more challenging than it looks or else players will get tired of mashing whatever button you use to grab stuff.
Also, I'm not sure if this matters to you, but you can make Sumo Brother lightning fall through the ground by screen scrolling at the right moment. Even if you don't do that, the current Sumo Brother fire setup doesn't even look like an obstacle that would fit a Kaizo hack.
Unless I'm missing something, it looks like near the end of the screen included, you include more items than you actually need. You include a shell, some throw blocks, and ? blocks to knock out the Chuck and bullets. Seems awfully redundant to me.
Also, is this meant to be a savestateless Kaizo?

This is a very rough draft. In fact, I didn't really like most of it in the first place (It only took me about 30 minutes to make, plus I had a weird urge to upload something). It'll look much better later

P.S. this is designed to be as hard as C|C (AKA not savestateless)
You know what? I'll just scratch that whole level concept entirely. I actually started another kaizo that seems to have far superior quality than the one here (I work on too many projects at once :/ ) . I will just focus on that one.
I think I've made a pretty nice the for the final boss phase 2, although It's still just in my mind, and I have 0 experience with making midis.
Alright, I've barely started this hack, but I think it looks really good. Note that I need to insert custom sprites and blocks (I know hot to, I'm just lazy right now), so I have some others to replace them. All the 1-ups and the hidden mushrooms at the beginning are going to be replaced with poison mushrooms/hidden.

... How is that even helpful at all?

Well, I looked at Worldpeace's homepage, and he shows how to make a good port, so i'll follow that. simply put, I have a composition, but it may be a while before I can share it.
1: Water heater [DUH]
2: Internet modem [I need internet to live!]
3: Pen + paper [MUST DRAW]
4: 2 plates any meal [That's a good deal]
5: Mozart [Just for piano :P]
6: 18 Japanese girl [I actually want to learn Japanese]
7: Bar [Fine taste]
8: Rig [I can get my gaming+movie fix here]
9: MDMA + LSD [WHEE]
10: Porn [Don't judge]
Another screenshot. :p

Ick, cement blocks. Just wanted to upload something.
Idiosyncratic Mario
A new hack that will be along the lines of worldpeace's
"smwLoop2". Basically the difficulty is higher than the original smw but not as hard as kaizo, and designed more like an obstacle course. I am not just remixing the levels, though.

Screenpics of first level. I am almost finished with this stage, just need to add final touches.

Yes, there are puzzle elements. And I only said "Kaizo-ish" Because I didn't really know what to say. It's along the lines of Loop2.
Actually, all I have to do now is change some tilemapping for the downward shooting bullet bill because it clashes with the timed lift.
It has three midway points, which I think suffices. It's a bit long though (7-8 minutes)
I'm really sorry about not making any progress for a few months, I'm just lazy and I don't know how exactly SMW's graphic routines work exactly. I'll try to put all my focus on this, at least as soon as I can find my damn flashdrive >:/
