Tip: Do you want to create custom blocks, but have little to no experience with ASM? Use Kipernal's Blockreator!

you know how i only filled in the older levels like halfway?

well this time, im making a SMW2 styled althelic level,
much longer than older levels in this hack, and it will use a japanese sprite made by carol,
it is the SMW2 line-guided platforms,
and this level will reach all the way to screen 1F!
(YES, SCREEN #1F!)
and there will be path curves that sometimes take you backwards!
as if SMW1 Mario was taken back years ago. . .
1st reply!
I Like how this hack looks, but the name of the hack should be:
Super Mario Bros 3 redone.
cause the only classic i saw in there was Mario 3 :|

(oh and by the way, how do you get the P-Meter to work?! I Can't make it work at all!
if my ROM seems to have ANY ASM changes done, it just. . . doesn't work.
the ROM stops working,
soooo are you like using a better coded version of it?)

Well, thanks for the comments, and for the name Classics, is for more levels inspirated in SMB (1, 2 and 3), i don't know if i should change the name of my hack, also, for the P-Meter, you need a Freespace and the SFX, you can find this here.

Edit: Please, look the videos of Gameplay and Toad's House!

Edit 2: Look my Beta Title Screen:

Well, i have set my freespace,
i used the following patches:
Much better raccoon Mario patch
SFX While climbing
perfect breakable bricks.
to add in more SMB3, i TRIED patching "SMB3 p-meter".
but even with freespace + SFX, all it does is crashes :/
(restricted)
yes, This seems to be a badly coded patch that's impossible to use with other patches!
what else i patched:
SFX While climbing,
much better raccoon Mario patch,
enter level sound
and perfect breakable bricks.
then I decided to use SMB3 P-meter,
i setted my freespace, left the SFX untouched (for saftey),
(note that my status bar WAS changed to look somewhat more like the SMB3 status bar)
i patch, and then my ROM is dead, it passes the "Nintendo Presents", sure,
but the title screen crashes, with only the music + a black screen.

Try this FreeSpace for P-Meter: $278000

And for the SFX is the bank $1DF9

thanks for the freespace,
Im gonna go see if its still free

EDIT: Not only is it free, BUT IT WORKS! :D

After a long time of work, i finished my Level Grassland 4, and i'm added Luigi in the Game, has two modes:

- MARIO GAME
- LUIGI GAME

Now, see the Video.

Comment the Palette and Luigi GFX.

Edit: I has added effects in the Coins.

This is quite the good idea,
I Hate those hacks where either 2 PLAYER GAME mode is disabled, or has no Luigi
but the Mario game / Luigi game option is something i can't wait to see :)
okay, like one of the earlier posts said, nice gimmick :3

and since this is the final level, im just now WAITING on hacks to be modderated, just to get S"M"W2 :D
man no, You can't cancel this hack, It's already looking good,
and the Super Mario classics were my life, please continue the hack!
I Don't think it's a SMB3X ripoff, if the levels are different,
and im sure this will be the hack of the year to me!
You HAVE to keep this hack going!! :D

MUST. PLAY. HACK!!!!!!! XD
wait, you're having SMB3 suits in the hack?!

Dude, the tanooki suit was AWESOME, it was like a improved Raccoon leaf! :D
the hammer suit was fun, and the frog suit. . .well. . . it was kinda boring on ground levels T~T

If Possible, i need that Suits for my hack, if not possible, have a other Good News!

other good news? Awesome :)
hope we get the suits in the next demo,
until then, finally playing the first demo of this promising hack :)
Note to self: This hacker is a english version of Carol (Super Kitiku Mario creator).
I've seen the new video, It seems just about everything is hacked.
Extended walking animations for Koopas,
Mario being a 32X32 sprite when he has a mushroom,
Star Coins with animations + exact size in NSMB,
Added sound effects for sliding down hills and stuff,
quicker level start / end fading effect.

Now MY question is: Will this hack make use of the Super FX or Super FX 2 co-processor chips?
A NSMB-like game on SNES emulators would really need those special effects! I Would love it! :D
In my personal view, I Like both, depending on the game itself.
If the game lags alot (Take the SNES Star Fox games for example),
I Use the SNES9x emulator (v1.41-1) to get a DRAMATIC speed increase + an increase in enjoyment level.
If i play a typical Nintendo game (Any console) that i really like alot on real consoles
(Super Mario Galaxy / Super Mario Galaxy 2, N64 Legend of Zelda games, New Super Mario Bros NDS / Wii,
any Mario Kart game with wi-fi, Super Mario Bros on SNES, and a few others), I Play on real console.
My most hated game? Every single FPS ever made, And ET on atari.
If I recall, my first SMW hack i played is Brutal Mario / Super Kitiku Mario.

Best japanese hack ever, still waiting for it's final release. :)
Okay, as far as i know, The Super FX co-processor chip for some SNES games can be overclocked
(I.E: 21.477 MHZ clock signal replaced with a higher number like 25 MHZ),
and TheDrakon's "Star Fox overclocked" mod is a good example ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOU2GikRRY8&feature=related ),
However, since i have a Star Fox cartridge, yet don't want to ruin it,
I Want to overclock the ROM image that i found from CoolROM,
And i assume i have to edit an address in Translhextion,
But since i'm VERY new to hex editing and stuff. . .
What address do i jump to, and what hex number do i have to edit to increase the clock signal?

The SuperFX frequency is not in the ROM. It's hardcoded into the emulator and not changeable.

Oh. . . i guess i might as well delete this thread. :<

EDIT: If i could, there's no delete option.

I Hate it all actually when i'm the one hacking,
for one thing, my custom levels always come out boring. ~n~
