Well I made eight "mockup songs" in hopes that it would inspire some
people to port the songs in here into SMW. This Zip file contains
eight MP3. files made via Synthfont.

Code
The songs in this order
"Destroy them all!" from Salamander
"Power of Anger" from Salamander
"Planet Ratis" from Salamander (PC Engine Version)
"Faraway" from Lightning Fighters
"Don't Leave Me Alone" From Nemesis 2
"Into Hostile Ship" from Gradius 2: Gofer no Yabō
"Take Care!" from Gradius 2: Gofer no Yabō
"Thunder Landing" from Super Contra

The Download link for the mockups: http://www.zshare.net/download/99389060dfb615d3
Alt. Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?ke2yxlqcayslf0c

Edit: Some people have expressed interest in getting the original midi files I used for my mockups. Here it is:

http://www.zshare.net/download/993940701a625afa/

(I tested the link myself and everything seems to be in working order)
Also Please note that the midi files are sorted like this:
(Song Name)(Game from whence it Came)(Arranger)

Alt. Link in case the one above doesn't work: http://speedy.sh/zXNXZ/The-Original-Midi-Files.zip

You couldn't have said it better yourself. I agree with the need to be more compassionate and forgiving. Too often have we demonstrated a lack of those common moral values that separate us from the trolls and the hate-mongers. Infact the entire world would be a better place if can just get along and be kind to each other. But we're not perfect and maybe that will never happen, but that doesn't mean we should give up kindness, compassion, understanding and mercy.

It been over two years since I last hacked SMW. I believe it is now time for me to come out of retirement and show these youngster what a minor
silver age legend can do!

As you should know the general premise of this hack is sort of an ode
to the silver age of SMW hack, This was a time before Fusoya came out of Retirement and upgraded SMW. A time before SNN made his historic 1000th
post, A time when the memory of Icegoom leaving the community was still fresh on quite a few people's minds. Basicly it was the period between the years of 2004-2008. Some say the silver age ended in 2009. My hack will loosely emulate certain trends running among hacks from that era.

And here's a select list of things about hacks from the silver age that I intend to mimic (But not slavishly)

*Some of the default graphics of hacks from the Silver Age didn't quite match up with the default style, but they managed to look good anyways.
*Most Silver Age hacks had First worlds that were somewhat Easy to Medium Difficulty, with the Difficulty spiking on world 2 and raising gradually afterwards.
*Some Silver age hacks had serious plots of varying epicness
(Examples being Super Mario Infinity and The Second Reality Project 2)
*Most hacks didn't have the benefit of the Newbie Boss Sprite or Dispario Scuri's NPC sprites, nor did they have Romi's Variable Width Font Cutscene tool
*Most hacks from the Silver age had odd modifications to stock enemies (Examples being the Faster Bullet Bills from Super Mario Infinity and
the chargin' chucks that were weak to fireflowers in Super Mario's New Adventure: The Plumber's Fury)
*Finally, Most hacks from that era had very creative Big Boo Battles

Likewise I'm still thinking of a plot but I have a few loose pieces already. the wrecked ship on the world map near Mario is one of those fragments of the plot.

Here are the screenshots for those who are interested:

@Daizo:Thank you.

On another note I just uploaded a short video of level 1. (Youtube is malfunctioning on me so I had to use something else)

@Mawwo7: No. They are perfectly normal SMW beta pipes. Nothing weird about them at all.
@SuperWeirdo: I usually prefer to make SMB3/SMW hybrid overworlds because it combines the best aspects of both without combining the worst. Nothing weird about them at all.

@OmegazeroINFI:If you do decide to port one of the songs, please tell me via PM.

I wasn't aware of your hack Zildjian. Infact I thought I was the only one with nostalgic feelings for era I mentioned. I honestly wasn't trying to steal your thunder though. Infact I made few hacks back in the aforementioned era myself and I honestly wanted to recapture that nostalgic feeling as well. Give me a break man, I haven't touched Lunar Magic in over two years and I'm just now coming out of retirement.

I would like to discuss the subject of our's hacks similarity further with you on the IRC. I'm usually on the IRC at these following times: 2:00PM-5:00PM CST and then 7:00PM-1:00AM CST after I'm done with whatever work needs to be done around the house.

I give in, I know this thread is a hopeless dead end but I hope desperately to be proven wrong.

I would like to port of "Poison of Snake", "Planet Ratis" and "Destroy them all" from Salamander.

Here's a link to a zip file with four midis, two of them are different versions of "Poison of Snake". one has more accurate notes and the other has better instrumentation.

I suppose you didn't know this but I happen to do sprite art in the form of spritesheets and some limited spriting. let this be noted that I am an amateur sprite artist, not as good as sonikku but good enough.
My spritesheets for those who are interested:

Please keep in mind that most of these are simplificated tilesets that were originally made to be easy to use while conveying the spirit of the original game that the tileset was based on.

Edit: More Sprite art for the hungry masses!

I think quoting my main thread should be sufficient.

I been holding off on releasing a demo till c3 and it was a painfully long wait. So now here's a DL link to the demo:
http://bin.smwcentral.net/u/19045/smwtsademo13.zip

Also, Chester is on my shit-list for violating my rights to political neutrality and for drafting me against my will.

Changed the DL link.

Mind you, this is just my opinion but here it goes:

7. Biggest Surprise: Lunar Magic 2.00 and LSMW by Fusoya and Alcaro
15. Best Trailer: TSRP2R by FPI
20. Best Sprites: Giant Koopa Boss by Sonikku
22. Best SMW Music Ports: Megaman X Soundtrack by MaxodeX and Botcrazy

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you..

A WIP fangame being worked on by Myself and a dedicated team. I will list them off right here:
*FireSeraphim (Myself) (Sprite Artist, Creative Director, Level Designer, Chief Bugtester)
*Bigworm (He's no longer available due to RL issues)
*Ragont (Assistant Bugtester) (Currently waiting on a chance to get a better computer to run AOD on)
(FYI it's being developed with Dragezeey's VII Engine on GM8 Pro).

But enough talk, have at them!

Screenshots, Slightly Outdated

The Main hubmap from which your heroes can access the six worlds this fangame will contain (Be warned, It's slighty outdated). In order to get inside Dracula's Castle (which will be also be a world) you must first collect six Demon Emblems, each of these emblems symbolize aspects of Dracula
himself (Although for practical gameplay purposes they're really just a macguffin to prevent players from strait up storming the castle from the get go). A brief list of them.

The Void Emblem, The Inferno Emblem, The Shadow Emblem, The Pain Emblem, The Rage Emblem and The Malice Emblem. I have yet to decide which of the six world each of these emblems will go to but I do have a loose idea for the theme of the six world themselves.

and here's the overall world listing:
World 1: Bitteroot Vale (think the first and second stage of Super Castlevania 4 and you'll get the idea)
World 2: *Canyons with a bit of an old west/pre-columbian north america theme.
World 3: *Forests (something akin to what you would expect from European folklore, especially German folklore).
World 4: *Swampland with a sort of south american touch to it.
World 5: *Another desert-y, Mediterranean coastal world with an antiquity/medieval Spain like theme
World 6: *Icey tudra of sorts, starting off in some steppe like area then transitioning to northern ice

*These world don't have names yet

AOD Level 1

Newer Videos:

AOD W1 "Castle"

Likewise we are looking for a new chief programmer due to bigworm leaving because of RL Issues.

We also have a demo down below, but be aware this demo is slightly outdated.

As you may all recall, over a month ago I discussed the possibility of working on a TSPR themed SMBX episode with FPI himself as this Gmail conversation can attest:
The Proof is in the pudding!
After that Wind, Valtteri, Xerx, M4sterbr0s, Darkonius, and Turwig joined my project team (althought I think there's one other person I'm forgetting somehow). We were waiting until we had World 2 done before we made a project thread on SMWC but Wind persuaded me to post this thread early. Before you ask, yes I keep FPI informed on this project and I consult him when it comes down to critical decisions.

Also we are using LunarLua to enable such shenanigans as Switch Palaces, enhanced boss fights and even a level timer.

It was a fine evening, Luigi had long since went to bed. Toad was staying over at Luigi's for the night on account of him accidentally losing the key to his house. Suddenly a dimensional rift opened, with Zycloboo, a haunt of Boos and Thirlox stepping out of the rift.

Zycloboo: I still say we should go with my plan first, with it the Mushroom Kingdom will most certainly meet it's doom by my hands. Mario would be a much more fitting choice for what we have in store.

Thirlox: Bah. I triple checked this plan and there's no way Luigi could possibily fudge this up. Besides we simply need one of the two plumbers to activate the Power Switch and Luigi is the logical candidate because he isn't as strong willed as Mario, thus being more easily manipulated.

Zycloboo: And all to power up your Glitch Cannon Mark II. Do I need to remind you what happened...

Thirlox: Of-course not, I remember all too well how Mario destroyed our home universe and I made sure to put in a failsafe to prevent it from
destroying the Second Reality.

Zycloboo: Good, Then I shall not delay this promising event any longer...

With that Zycloboo cast his Inter-Dimensional magic on Luigi's House and send it to the Second Reality, where our story begins...

You thought this Project was dead? YOU THOUGHT WRONG!

There are 4 new screenshots for your perusal in the opening post, each one being a screenshot of a different level that our dev team has been working on.

The dirt tiles in both Darkonius's level and Wind's level are from SMB3 Redrawn by Ghettoyouth, I'll see what I can do about them but I don't think either Wind or Darkonius will be happy campers though. As for the ghost house, all tiles are from TSRPR; it's just that it's still a bit empty and I been hounding Valtteri to de-empty it a bit

Ladies and gentlemen, It has been too long since I last posted on this project here. Certainly I will admit there were some delays in regards to the Demo for TSRP-X but the demo is finally here (click this link to download it) and ready to played by anyone and everyone on this very site.

We would appreciate any comments or criticism you may have after playing the demo.

and now for a few screenies for the skeptical:

and to further dis-sway the skeptics, here's the very email proving we have permission to do this:
The proof is in the pudding!

Thank you h2643! I'm glad to see that you're hyped!

Thank you FPI, I will confess that we really didn't have much time to playtest once I returned from my hiatus and once we decided on C3 as our deadline for the demo so we did we could in balancing it and we will release a post-C3 demo that focuses on refinement and fixing any bugs and balance issues found by C3-goers. I thank you for your honest appraisal and criticism.

Edit: Wind (who is also known as Savordez) just remind me that I needed to list who's on the team so without further ado, our devteam.
