Tip: Press F2 on the level editor to see sub-screen boundaries. This will help you avoid glitching Dragon Coins by putting them on the sub-screen boundaries.

Hello, everyone. Not to sound like a complete and utter moron, but how do I insert the GFX/ExGFX? When I just copy/paste it into the normal GFX files, it just comes out all weird. Help, please? Thanks!

~Super Mario 2
While I appreciate the help, I suppose I didn't explain as well as I could/should have. What I mean is, it comes with a palette, but this isn't the same one SMW uses - I want the enemies/items, or at least some of them, to look that way. But when I copy/paste over the original SMW graphics, it usually has an odd palette.

Even when I insert the palette, everything else gets all funky. And even then, it still doesn't look quite right, if memory serves correctly.

Well, it still did go funky... Using http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=showexgfx&id=205 by the way.
Well, the palettes are all normal. So wait...by "put them in the GFX folder" do you mean put the actual .bin in there, or manually copy/paste it in there?

Super Mario 2 - Return of Super Mario! No really, I've returned. Forgot my password and whatnot, the e-mail used no longer works, etc... But uh, hey all. How have you been?

Welcome back. I'm fine thanks, and you?

Also who was you? I'm afraid you didn't check this.

Hm, my bad...sorry. Though the e-mail I used was for Charter, and well, we switched, so the e-mail was lost. I was Super Mario, though. The member list doesn't really pop me up, though.
Welcome! Have fun. :D
Well, to quote his instructions: "7 DO NOT PUT IT IN THE GRAPHICS FOLDER THEN PRESS INSERT GFX!
(Or you might have bad times...)"
So I assume I manually replace the graphics.
Sorry for making this almost certainly pointless thread, but are there any blank spaces to do ExAnimation and such, instead of overwriting existing tiles?

I want the animation to be FG. And uh, "source frames?" Sorry, not really good with ExAnim...

EDIT: Well, I guess I wouldn't mind useless tiles, either. Like the flopping Cheep-Cheep.

Oh, OK. So you can add blank source tiles? Well, of course, you would fill them in, but...how do you do this? Sorry to be a bother.
The Super GFX Bypass?
Hm, I knew about that...I suppose I'm awful at explaining things right away. OK, what I mean is, are there any blank 8x8 tiles to replace that will NOT replace existing GFX? By which I mean, instead overwriting, say, the warp pipe tiles, I could overwrite blank tiles without consequence.
Thanks! Er, wait... I'm having issues...the tiles screws up in-game, basically...

Do you mean assigning BG2 to ExGFX...80, in my case? If so, I already did that.

I did do 1 8x8 tiles. And redrawn...? I dunno...
I know what YY-CHR is - but redrawing doesn't seem necessary. Also, I'm going for SMA4/SMAS SMB3 styled...
