er...it was a joke about the low quality of mcdonald's food but ok
the mother ports sound great but eye emm aych oh the scaraba sample set doesn't fit the desert track that well. it's kinda poppy and the scaraba set doesn't really reflect that very well. i also feel like the lead instrument in the underground track clashes a bit with the feel of the rest of the rest of the track but ehh that one is a bit less of a problem for me.

other than that great work! i can defs respect how well you nailed the feel of the tracks otherwise.

Oh hey, you're into music theory! Mind explaining to a layman what a 6th chord is?

not really sure how to explain it beyond that it's a 7th except the 7 is actually the 6th note of the scale. like where a G major 7 chord would be GBDF♮, a G major 6 would be GBDE. or where a D minor 7 chord would be DFAC♮, a D minor 6 would be DFAB.

it's certainly not a normal method of resolving to the tonic, but i think it sounds cool and keeps the momentum of the progression going in a way that a normal V7 -> I can't

I mean, I'm doing just fine without that knowledge, but I would like to actually know how to recognize a note by ear just by listening to it, since that would make ear porting a lot better and not impossible at all. Because of that, I was wondering, does music theory actually tell you about this? Because maybe it wouldnt be so bad to learn it after all

music theory is just how music is structured. if you know what time signatures, scales, chord progressions and the like are and how they work then that's basic music theory.

besides that, i think that being able to pick out notes by ear is a bit of a skill? i don't think it has much to do with music theory beyond being familiar with what the notes are called and what they sound like. i usually just hum c scale until i get close to the note i'm trying to pick out, then see if i can pinpoint it from there, which obviously requires knowing what c scale is and keeping track of what note you're at in the scale when you get close.

but music theory is most useful for performing and composing music. even a basic knowledge of music theory can get you pretty far in both areas, but it's not required - you could potentially "feel" your way around the music, but that's arguably harder than learning music theory and structuring/learning music around that knowledge

mario in smash 4 is not top 10. while arguably going even with the overwhelming majority of the cast is more than most characters can say about themselves, you can't seriously tell me you're going to put him in the same category as a character that can kill you at 20% off 3 di reads, or a character with a little floating transcendent hitbox.

where did humans pick up the idea of altruism? we (and many other creatures, especially mammals) are naturally inclined to be selfish murderous monsters only driven by physical wants, so this idea of treating other creatures well kinda comes out of left field.

i hate loud, piercing noises and both dogs and little kids make lots of loud, piercing noises

i find cats really relatable, they're quiet and never interact with anyone they aren't familiar with. probably wouldn't want to live with one though lmao
