After such a very long time, I finally got a trophy. I would like to thank the judges for giving me such high scores, but mainly for all the nice things they said about my level. More so, I would like to thank all of those that gave me support in this event. Special thanks goes to Maxx for helping me with a few ASM related things, and PercentN for his input and support while making this level. Who knows, maybe I might get a the kinks out of it and turn it into a hack someday. Thanks.
Here is a photograph of myself, for those who wondered how I looked.
Have you considered using the Ultimate Noob Boss sprite? It basically does what Maxx's sprite does, but it has a very VAST amount of options, including launching custom sprites.
Congratulations, Orbis. Your skills as a graphic's artist are amazing. I myself am quite happy with second, heh, far better than I had expected.

Here is a grassland set that I have been working on. I sort of thought about how things look in modern Mario games, and came up with this. All the tiles are original with the exception or Black Squirrel's bushes, and some heavily edited mushroom tiles.

You can download the set with the link above.
Here is an underwater set that I have been working on for a while now.

You can download it here.

For the most part it is completely original, with the exception of a couple of things heavily editted from smb3, and heavily editted SMW seaweed graphics.
When did I ever say goodbye? I am alive and well, and I have full intention of joining this contest again.
StarTropics The Cursed Isle

Here is my entry for this years Chocolate contest. It is so tiring trying to get all that is in my head onto the game, and my satisfaction with this entry is but little. Regardless, I think that it is better than last year's entry. Enjoy.

In regards to the difficulty of the final boss, there is a bit of a trick to make him turn into a big puppy.
****SPOILER****
All one has to do is fling an enemy into the area near the top where you entered the sandpit. If you bank it off the wall, just like you would hitting a basketball off the backboard, the enemy will bounce off the wall and land right on the sandworm eater thing. With all the energy tanks that I have given, life shouldn't be a problem if you get hit a few times by the fireballs or the spikey bouncing bug thing.

In regards to the level itself, I attempted to make it fairly easy, given that noone really wants to restart and go through a bunch of stuff they have already went through. Furthermore, I also tried to make it where there wasn't too much to go through before or after the mid-point. I do hate working my way through long levels, only to be killed by the final boss, and then have to take 20 minutes to get back to him only to probably die again. If a level has to be completed using savestates, it is more of a hack than a level, in my opinion. I suppose that is why I felt it a good idea to give out that boss clue, heh.
Hello all. How is everyone doing today. Welcome to my C3 2010 booth. I am LunarDrake, for those who don't know me, and my primary hacking skill would have to be in the graphics area. From now till C3 ends I will be releasing some of my graphics here for anyone to use for whatever they would want to use them for. Some will be in tilesets for SMW hacking, and somethings will be in spritesheet form.

So, let's get the ball rolling.

This is a set that I made a long time ago. There seems to be a lack of train sets here on SMWC, so I figured I would attempt to fill the void. The sample level included in the set is pretty fun too. Here is the link. LunarDrake's Trainset
Enjoy.

It seems like this site turns into a circus everytime C3 comes around. With it being a festival of sorts, I have decided to release a festive tileset. Enjoy the Big Top tileset. Here is the link. LunarDrake's Big Top Tileset

I am now going to turn in for the night, as it is after 3am here. Be sure to check back in later because I still have more goodies to share.

Brrrrr......it is fairly cold today where I live. A gloomy reminder that winter time is coming. Winter is a time of snow and ice....ice, hey! That reminds me. Here is an Icecave Tileset. LunarDrake's Ice Cavern

I appreciate all the nice comments. Given the thought of some things being useful, I think I will now release the Mario's House set. This set was initially created for someone, but given as he is giving up hacking, he has given me the go to release it. The bg in the screenshot is from the mario and wario bg in the ExGFX section, but the fg is what makes up the set. It is rather apparent that the paper mario mario house is the reference here. Here is the link. LunarDrake's Mario's House . Again, I thank you.
I am not exactly sure how useful these will be to anyone, but here are some enemy spritesheets that I have redrawn, editted, and designed. Some of these can be added in over the original smw enemies, and some were intended to be used in conjunction with the various boss sprites. Rip as you please.

Hookbill, which was editted from the map graphic from Tetris attack.

Broozer, "figured broozer would have made this one", which is original, aside from the fact that Nintendo's broozer is the reference.

Here are some basic enemies found in SMW that I have redrawn.

Lastly for this post, here are some large goombas, and the goomba bros.. I was going to use these as bosses. Also, a redrawn kamek. How did those toadies get in there?
Hmmmm, getting requests within my C3 booth. Hey, I can go with that.

Here is the toad town, superdragonyoshi1 and whoever else would like it. As I understand we all will be seeing this set again pretty soon.
These are completely original, and I have yet to put them in map16 form so you will just have to rip. To see exactly how I set up the palettes, open with Idraw which is in the tools section. I clearly used paper mario as a reference. Also, Hobz......

Here is the jungle/forest tileset that I used in my contest level.

LunarDrake Jungle

The map16 is made in as clear an order as I could make it. This is obviously one of my newer sets. I still have one more thing to upload this C3, and that is.....
Here is the icecave sample level.

Icecave sample level

Map16 for FG is on page 6, and the bg is on page 13. All the bg is is the smb3 underground, I don't know why you'd need a sample but here it is.

Here is the final tileset that I am going to add for C3.

I truly appreciate all of the nice things that you've said about me. It has been a great honour to provide these sets to you, and know that you appreciate them. Things like this is what really keeps me going in this community. I have been around various game making sites for years, those of you who've read my piece in the wiki know this, but I have found that the SMWC community is the greatest that I have ever associated with. I hope that all these sets, and others I have released, will aid you in all your hacking and game creation endeavors.

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful C3. This is the first time that I have participated in this wonderful event, and I have just loved it. I do so look forward to the next C3, and I will try to have even more for the community the next go around. Thank you for visiting my booth. Goodnight all, and good luck.

Given all the different members here who participate in annual Thanksgiving dinners, I was curious to know about the traditions that any of you or your families may have for this holiday. If you would like to tell the community any family traditions or stories, feel free to post them. I myself would like to hear them, and I am sure others would as well.

Edit: I am also interested in the stories of people of other countries that may or may not have their own Thanksgiving like holiday.

I had no idea that you were Italian Jacob. I myself have a good bit of Italian blood back through my lines.

As far as Thanksgiving traditions go for me, first of all, I guess some of the things starts the day before. A bunch of the women of my family will go to my grandmothers the day before and begin to cook things, such as the desserts, and other things that do not have to be reheated.

On the next day, my wife and I always wake up early and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. After that we get all spiffied up, and make our way to my grandparents house.

In my family the men will eat first. A lot of good stories about old times and adventures get told, and stories of recent occurences. After this, the men, including myself, will make their way into the woods to deer hunt. And then the women eat, and heh, usually tell awful stories about the men. I've not heard too many of these, as I am one that takes to the woods now, but I remember hearing some real whizbangers as a child. It always aggravated me when they put me out so they could tell some dirty ones.

As far as the hunt, I find myself doing a bit of running. There are miles upon miles of woods where I live, and I really don't have the patience for deer hunting. I prefer squirrel and rabbit. Regardless, I usually haul all my uncles and cousins to their various hunting locations, which as you could imagine, takes a bit of time. After that, I return to my grandmother's and then begin a looooong walk. On my walk, I go across the hills and hallows in an attempt to drive the deer to my family members that are out on the hunt. Five miles through the woods playing dog is no picnic. If I should happen upon one while walking, I will slay it, but generally I make alot of noise as to scare the deer. Last year, 12 were killed in this fasion. The good part about what I do is those that manage to kill one always give me a good part of the meat. I get to eat on deer meat all winter, good thing I like it.

Well, my Thanksgiving story is more like a hunting story, but it is a tradition that I have participated in for years, and I look forward to it every year.

A newer SNES that isn't quite as worn out as mine would be nice. I think I will enter as well.
Lunardrakewinterentry.

For better, for worse, here it is. More or less a generic winter level with little story. Darn computer meltdowns....

The boss at the end is very little thought out, because I set it up in the last half hour, heh.

*****Spoiler*****

Just don't move when fighting bowser to dodge the fire flurry. All you have to do is jump the bullets, and toss the bombs.

We'll just clear that from the start.
