Originally posted by RoydGoldenRegistration seems like the obviously logical choice to me. Pretty crazy having a bunch of superhumans with epically destructive powers (Thor and Iron Man at least could definitely wipe out a city without too much trouble) run around as vigilantes. Even assuming these superhumans have 100% righteous motives (a big 'if') there's still collateral damage to worry about.
Basically, if we don't allow muggle vigilantes in real life, why should we allow people who are basically targeted nukes in human form to run around striking down everyone they deem 'evil', with no limitations save their own consciences. Of course the Government is far from flawless either (all the cases of police brutality in the papers as of late prove that much), but at least there are some means with which they can theoretically be held accountable.
I say all this, but from little I know of the comics the pro-reg side ends up making a lot of blatantly stupid/evil decisions, including trying to kill heroes who won't go along and reviving supervillains from cryofreeze to help track down said heroes. Not saying which actual side is morally better, just talking in terms of abstract policy here.
The pro-regs seem to make a very obvious point, whereas the anti-reg arguments seem to rely on a vague form of Libertarianism which strikes me as inapplicable. Feel free to take my word with a hefty grain of salt here though, since, as I've said above, I don't really follow Marvel comics.
I agree with RoydGolden here. Since the Sokovia Accords was exactly a hot topic for film.
Moving on, here are the team members (in no particular order, also sorry Thor and Hulk):
#TeamCaptainAmerica
- Captain America (duh)
- Winter Soldier
- Hawkeye
- Scarlet Witch
- Ant-Man
#TeamIronMan
- Iron Man (CAUSE HE'S THE GUY)
- War Machine
- Black Widow
- Vision
- Black Panther
Pick a side, or better yet, continue discussing about it.
