Just for consistency's sake, can I get the "Demo 2" taken off the title and put in the description instead? I didn't realize the first one I submitted did not have demo in the title.

A hack that has been in development since May 2017...
Super Dazran World!
With all the SMW-style levels out there in Super Mario Maker, I have decided to make romhacks of levels from Super Mario Maker. The levels I have remade are from Dazran303, a creator who makes traditional Mario World themed levels.
Because the levels are coming from SMM, there will have to be some changes in the crossover. While some assets that do not exist in SMW use ASM to add them in, others will be adapted to the SNES style.

Here are just a few screenshots:

More can be found on the hack page or you can see animated screenshots by playing the hack.

Currently, there are 13 levels from Dazran's collection. I plan on making about 18 more of his before considering another demo or determining if it is all for a full release.

In development:
One level is currently in development. Here is an early screenshot:

First off, don't use the .ips format for patches. SMWCentral no longer permits that in their hack entries, since it does not account for the header which will solve some issues with patching to headered/unheadered roms.

The title screen still has the sounds of Mario moving. Consider putting in your own title screen movement files to prevent the sounds from disrupting the music.

The text "Luigi and the Final Year" only appears in the fade-in and when you start the menu.

Consider using event paths on the overworld. It will make players less confused about where they can go, and give them mystery as where they should go.

The status bar is quite bland, as it's merely the default with Luigi replaced with the HP counter. Consider using a tool like SMWSBE to edit it, and creating a custom font to fit with everything else.

No sound when Luigi dies from losing all his HP.

On fadeouts, sometimes Luigi just moves without animation, making him look like he's gliding.

It is possible to make Luigi's HP go to 11 if he takes a mushroom at 9HP.

The ocean looks bland. Consider placing rocks in the sea or other objects to break up the pattern.

Now I get to the part of the review that requires screenshots. It is here:

I stopped playing at Temporal Jungle. All in all, it's a solid hack and while I didn't have enough time to play with the rest, it looks like it will work out pretty well and I hope my feedback assists you in looking at the rest of the hack.

I know I'm working on my own romhack at the moment, but I'd love to volunteer to design a level. Consider me for one of the normal levels in Worlds 1 or 2. It might take a few weeks to design and test before I'm all done with it though.

I saw a playthrough of an older hack not too long ago, and noticed the Iggy fight was identical, except for additional platforms on top of the big one, which also rotated according to Mode 7.

Is there any tool that would allow me to create my own custom platforms for use in the Mode 7 fights?

The tool works well, except for the fact that it requires you to manually type in the whole rom directory (really shows how old it is).
One issue: it causes a bad checksum. The rom still runs in emulator, so should I be worried about this?

First big development update!
More levels are being worked on, and here is a preview of some:

A forest themed level with plenty of jumping in the canopies, featuring wigglers and some that are always angry at Mario for whatever reason.

This level might look very mundane, but Mario is trying to infiltrate a popular Koopa hideout. Looks like they're bringing the full force, featuring flying koopa generators.

An underground stage with some fungi growth surrounded by vicious spike tops.

Jump from platform to platform in this stage that revolves around line-guided platforms.

Title explains it all!
User redguy has developed support for GSU on SD2SNES. However, it is just the beta. Currently playing Yoshi's Island with the tool and I haven't seen any grave issues yet.
