I understand how to change the appearence of bosses but what I want to know is this: Is it possible to make custom bosses from scratch programmed to do whatever I want? I had a few ideas (E.g. Ridley from Metroid, etc.) but I have absolutely no idea where to begin. Please help!

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but there is a problem with the thwomp boss sprite i got. I have the usual ASM and CFG, and they're in the usual sprites folder but my sprite tool keeps giving me an error saying it couldn't open the cfg file. Someone help!

In the sprites.txt it says 20 thwomp_boss.cfg
the file name of the cfg in the sprites folder is thwomp_boss.cfg
the asm in that folder is thwomp_boss.asm

If that isn't the problem.. are you sure the .cfg file is in your sprites folder?
It's in there. Just like all the other custom sprites. And I have pasted numerous boss sprites before. I'll try downlaoding again incase it's corrupt

I have a retro crazy one. Unfortunatly in the rom I used I'm using 105 as a music test level so I made yoshi's house into the level. If it's not Ok i'll rewrite the rom. Here's the link [url=http://bin.smwcentral.net/4977/Awesome%20graphic.ips]

I've recently been working on a hack that I was hoping to release a demo of in C3 called Mario and the Pumpkin Kingdom. I finished the main part of the demo so I thought I would add some music. I went into Lunar Expand as usual and then I thought to myself: Hmmm,I'm going to be adding a lot of music to this game so I better make it a large file! So I picked the largest file it would allow me to pick (8MB) but then the problems started. To insert music it could only be no more than 4MB and to make matters worse I couldn't open it in any version of Lunar Magic or ZSNES. I need to compress it back down to 4MB but I don't know if that's possible! Can anyone help? If you want me to send the original rom or an IPS patch of it to take a closer look please PM me!

Is the format of the ROM in SMC or SRM? Try the other file format instead.

But, moving on, that was a terrible idea. You can't really compress it without repercussions, but you can give it a shot. And if it does screw up your game, find a new ROM and extract everything from old pooped out ROM and insert it to the shiny new one.
What sort of negative repercussions are you talking about? I would extract and rewrite everything but theres a problem.
1) I dont think you can extract overworld data (Unless you wanna correct me on that)
2) I can't open it in ANY version of Lunar Magic
3) The IPS patch is also at 8MB when inserted.
I did find lunar compress but i can't figure it out

While this is correct, it's not reloaded when you load a new ROM. Open the old rom, open the OW editor, open the new rom in the same window, do something that makes the save command appear, and save.
Thanks But how do u use lunar compress?

A backup of the ROM? Hehehe... How do I put this? I was an idiot and didn't back it up

Probably easy. How do I make it so custom music plays through once and doesn't loop?

I'm having trouble perfecting some custom music. When I insert it it always says "Line 8 Syntax Error". I don't know what this is! Does anyone know? Here's the current coding for it (I still need to compress it.)

That will require some hex or asm ;) Unfortunately that's something I cant help with. Check the tutorials

Doesn't seem to work. I'm probably doing something wrong. I'll check it out.

Yes, SuperYoshi's MML converter. I used the new line after every + tool to make it easier to compress

Well I'm not really a fan of the type of music that causes the problem so yay. At least a new ZSNES is coming. Maybe my rom hack TAS will stop screwing up now!
