Just to clarify a bit on the previous post:

It's the yellow mushroom.
Originally posted by uNkNowNeRRoR5642Step 4: Click the Red Mushroom; uncheck the top, then at the bottom of the window, go to the bottom-most left. That's SP2.
Red poison mushroom.
Originally posted by uNkNowNeRRoR5642Step 5: Click the white space in SP2- scroll down to the number you specified. When done, hit okay.
Not QUITE bottom-left... Just SP2.
Originally posted by uNkNowNeRRoR5642Step 7: Look in Lunar Magic or test it to see if it works.
Not quite... you have to re-load the level first.

Edit the overworld palette? That's my best guess, I haven't seen a Luigi question like this yet. Also, if you're using Luigi all the time, then you're going to want to change address 013DB to D0. That will swap the MARIO START! to a LUIGI START!

Are you setting the screen exit for the first screen or the second screen? Screen 1 is the second screen.

[sarcasm]Yay, I get to teach someone about hex editing![/sarcasm]
Its not that hard. Download transhexlation from the tools section, and open your ROM with it. Press Ctrl+G and type in x013DB, press OK. Change the highlighted value to D0.

Xkas is a program that allows you to insert custom ASM hacks in to your ROM. Use it by opening the windows command prompt in the same folder as:
Your ROM.
Xkas.
The patch you want to insert.
In the command prompt, type:
Codexkas yourrom.smc yourpatch.asm
Note that your rom name and patch name can't have any spaces in them, or it won't work.

Do you hate using xkas
through the command prompt?
Does RevX not work for you?
Then boy do we have a treat
for you! I am creating
a GUI application for xkas!

No. Re-name your hack so that it has no spaces.

Open up the windows file explorer.
Go to:
and copy "cmd.exe" into the folder with everything in it.

That means that there is something wrong with the patch.
Which is odd, because I've inserted that patch myself.
But anyway, don't use that patch, I haven't been able to get it to work.
OFF TOPIC:
You don't need to post a picture of your entire screen. Press ALT+Print Screen to take a screenshot of only the current window.

Fool with the sprite memory settings (lakitu button on toolbar) until it works.

In C#, I know that there is a really simple way to get a little pop-up window to appear. But, whenever I Google it or use the visual studio help, I always get something about the "pop-up class". I remember my dad showing me how to do it with, like, three lines of code, and I need to know that again. Any help would be accepted.

In lunar magic:
Level>Enable Custom Palette
Then, open up the palette editing window, and the changes you make will only appear in that level.

Click on the ghost house in the toolbar, then you will be able to move the paths around. To get new tiles, click on the Blue switch palace in the toolbar. The window that appears is the tile selector for the 16x16 tiles.

Oh, uhhh... I got it! It was:
MessageBox.Show(this, [text in the box here], [caption of the box]);
That means this can be closed.
