Do you mean on LM or in the ROM? When inserting them in Lunar Magic, they'll just look like they do normally. But the only way to make sure you did it right is to PLAY YOUR HACK. They should look right in your hack. It's like the Piranha Stem Fix patch. Fixes it in your ROM, but not in Lunar Magic.

Bleh, no updates in DAYS! I MUST bring you guys up-to-date on what I'm doing! >_<
First off, we've got a nice little graphic known as Boo's Sheet.
http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/8004/sltsr0004ol0.png
Any of you know of Bio's Super FX patch? How about his Vanish Mario patch? His Vanish Cap sprite? I'm gonna put those on my hack. So, remember those blocks I sorta-kinda took from Wario Land? The ones I once said that only Mimi could pass through? Well, change of plans. Once I patch these patches, you'll only be able to pass them when you're under the influence of the Boo's Sheet! I also want to replace the Feather code with the Boo's Sheet code so I can have Boo's Sheet in the Item Box... Yeah, I'd like some help on how to do that, please.
Next, I plan on making a graphic for HP Plus, to go with the SMB2-style health bar patch. Yeah, no pic for that. Sorry.
Finally, I don't think I can use Custom Music in my hack. It's either get rid of Mimi, or get rid of the music. For some reason, no one will help me get the info I need to be able to put the Seperate Luigi GFX onto a modified ROM. See, the Seperate Luigi GFX patch MUST be used on a clean, unmodified ROM. This annoys me, since it ALSO makes the ROM bigger than 1 MB! Thus, no Custom Music, 'cause I can't do INIT on the ROM. And no, patching after doing INIT doesn't work. Like I said, it has to be used on a clean, UNMODIFIED ROM. I REALLY need help with this, guys! I don't want to lose either of them! Especially since I requested some music already...
Anyways, progress is SLOW on the hack. And I'm getting fearful that I won't be able to bring all my ideas to life, seeing as I need a LOT of custom sprites that I can't make...yet. And I DON'T want to request them from someone else. Like heck anyone would really wanna make me a Dimentio sprite to my EXACT specifications...right? Anyways, can someone link me to a GOOD ASM tutorial? The last one I read (At the third incarnation of Acmlm's Board) didn't help me at all. ASM is STILL just a bunch of random numbers with no meaning to me...
*sigh* Sorry for not having much of an update, but I've just been trying to get my parents to play games with me all day these past few days. That, and I've been hard at work on graphics. I can't stop until I have what I need and want.
Edit: Well, I've run into a major problem. I can either have Seperate Luigi GFX OR Custom Music. There is absolutely NO way to have both, unless there's a way to change the locations that the graphics are read from. If anyone knows how to do this, let me know, because I'd like to change the "Mario" GFX to GFX32.bin, right with the Title Screen "Mario". I can't have it at its normal location. That conflicts with the Addmusic data. But if I can just remap MARIO'S graphics... I think I can make it work then! Luigi's... Mostly not a problem, but I think they overwrite something with two dots on it, can't remember. Hopefully, that thing doesn't harm ANYTHING with the custom music if overwritten.... Also, no. I'm not gonna get rid of Seperate Luigi GFX so I can use custom music. I'm not keeping my hack as Luigi being the ONLY character...

It's been 8 days since I posted, but still, sorry for the double-post... But this is important.
I am putting this hack on hold until I learn some ASM so I can make my own custom sprites. I know that no matter what, I'm GONNA have to learn ASM if I want to fulfill my ideas. I don't really think anyone would want to make me two Dimentio sprites for the Dimentio battles in my hack, or even any of the Robot Masters. I just KNOW that if I were to ask someone, they'd just tell me to do it myself. Thus, I'm skipping that part, and I'll go right to the doing it myself....but I need to learn ASM first. I'd use a tutorial, but I don't trust them at all... So yeah, a little pedicament here, since the last person I asked to teach me outright REFUSED to teach me, despite knowing that I don't trust tutorials...

Well, I remember that someone a while back suggested I bring the vertical lines of my Sammer's Kingdom ground closer together to make it look more like the original (I think it was Remnic. Can't remember...), so... I did so the other day.

As an added bonus, I seperated the looks of solid and walkthrough ground. So, does it look any better, guys? Also...

Does the water look okay with a black outline above it? Originally, it didn't have that black outline, but it meant I couldn't put the water right there at the top block that's containing it. Else it looks like it's overflowing or something. O_o
And for those who have yet to see it:

My custom P-Switch. P-Blocks have been updated since this pic, so don't pay any attention to them at all.
Hope you like it.

That's no outline. And I'm keeping that, okay? It's as close as I can get to SPM animated water.... If I replace the water with SMB3, it'll make S.N.N. sad. Along with me. D: ...But seriously, there's absolutely no replacement for SPM graphics for my hack. Background... I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with those. If anyone wants to try their hand at making me some SPM-ish backgrounds, then go ahead, I won't stop you.

This is a simple problem. You need to set Layer 2 Horizontal and Vertical scrolling to Constant. That way, it scrolls with the foreground. You see, that setting doesn't just effect the Background on Background levels...it also affects the Foreground on Level Layer 2 levels. And remember, if using the sprites that make Layer 2 sink/rise, set them both to "none". ;) (Just in case you didn't know that.)
Hope that helps you!

Yeah, I'm just getting into trying to make custom sprites, and I want to start small. Right now, I want to make a sprite that simply tweaks another, but references a certain address to work with, say, an ASM patch. Is this possible? If so, how would I do it? Thanks in advance.

I know that. I meant that I wanted to know if it was possible to make a Tweak-set sprite that can reference an address...
MrCheese, you might be right. Here, let me explain what I'm going for... KilloZapit made me a change for his Health ASM hack to where it displays numbers instead of Hearts. However... I want enemies to deal differing amounts of damage. I know that SpriteTool comes with a few disassemblies, but what exactly are they missing? INIT routines, I know of those... But like I said, I'm JUST learning it, so I'm not entirely sure what all would need to be done... (Thanks for any help you can give me.)

So, you guys have played Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, right? You know of the Riddle Tower near the end of the game? The one with the 8 Riddles? Yeah, there's 8 messages in the riddles. I need help unscrambling the order. I wrote down the messages for reference... Here they are, so you need not play the game to find out:
Floor 1:
Complete All Seven...
So That We, the Great Ones...
Stones Have Power of Stars...
Master of Shadow and Dark...
Floor 2:
And That the Skies Lie...
But the Stars Bring Balance.
We Know the Stars Spurn Us...
Can Live Again by the Stone...
Here is what I think the order is:
Complete All Seven So That We, the Great Ones, Can Live Again by the Stone, Master of Shadow and Dark. We Know that the Stars Spurn Us, Stones Have Powers of Stars, and That the Skies Lie, But the Stars Bring Balance.
Or something like that. What do you guys think? I'm DYING to know what you all think. Oh, and thanks. D:

Well, I think posting in the old thread would be gravedigging, so I'm gonna make a new thread. If it wouldn't be gravedigging, then please close this thread for me. D:
I've been hard at work lately. Working on updates for graphics, finishing Silver Pipeline 2, etc... Someone from another website has agreed to make me some new Luigi tiles if he finds the time, so look forward to some super-awesome SPM-ish Luigi tiles...maybe. I'm not promising ANYTHING. And you shouldn't EXPECT anything, either. :o
Now, some pics!

I changed the color of the Vine Creator sprite, and KilloZapit made me a Health patch that uses numbers instead of actual Heart graphics.

IT'S SO TOTALLY FILLER! Just showing off the fact that I patched the Classic Fireball patch. Fireball + Enemy = Coin = Fail, IMO.

Changed the On-Off Switch graphic. Now it's speckled! :o Also, will turn it Red later. It doesn't change colors.

IT'S SO TOTALLY FILLER! Orange in Palette 0 is now red.

IT'S SO TOTALLY FILLER! (Is that getting old? Yes? Good, no more filler stuff. ) I applied the Fade Fix patch.
SILVER PIPELINE 2:

Once he said he lost his key... Now he changes his statement and claims that it was STOLEN. He'd better make up his mind, or he'll lose the case!

...I lied. MORE FILLER. XD Just showing off first use of Flip/Flopside GFX....

New P-Switch and better P-Block graphics. P-Block, like the On-Off Switch, is now SPECKLED!

If you do not find the On-Off Switch in the level, you can't continue. But don't worry, the pipe above you won't send you to the start! No, you'll pop out somewhere near the On-Off Switch, I guarantee that...

Super-awesome Key! OF DOOM!! *cough* I mean *cough* Of Awesomeness *cough*
-I don't need to show you the unlocking of the Shed, do I? No? Good, it's so totally filler, anyways.-

End of Silver Pipeline 2. IT'S UNDERWATER.
SILVER PIPELINE 3:

Sneak preview of the start of Silver Pipeline 3! Here's the basis of the level: To beat the level, you gotta solve a puzzle involving hitting the On-Off Switch. But to solve that puzzle, you gotta solve another puzzle involving activating a Blue P-Switch! But to solve THAT puzzle, you gotta solve ANOTHER puzzle involving finding the 5 Silver Coins!! Man, what a world Luigi lives in...
Well, sorry to disappoint you guys, but I'm dropping Wily and Mimi outta the hack... But don't worry, Mimi will still be around! Just wait and see what I mean...
So. Here's the thing... At the expense of Mimi, I get CUSTOM MUSIC!!! It's SO totally worth it! Trust me! Also, you now have Health. You start with 10 HP. Certain enemies much later on will do more than just 1 damage. HP Plus items will be hidden in the world and they'll give you 5 HP for each you find. Also, I am sad to say this, but.. I can't use the SuperFX and VanishMario patches in my hack. Why? Well, for some odd reason I can't figure out, doing so turns Luigi into one big...thing of...green. I don't understand what's wrong, so... Until I can get some help on this, there will be no Boo's Sheet. I'm sorry...
Also, no story yet. I'm hoping Reading can help me more on it... I'm not getting my hopes up, though!

Complete All Seven - Most likely refers to the 7 Crystal Stars
So That We, the Great Ones - No clue, but probably the original heroes who stopped the Shadow Queen once before?
Can Live Again by the Stone - Most likely refers to the Crystal Stars again
Master of Shadow and Dark - Now THIS most likely refers to the Shadow Queen, actually.
We Know That the Stars Spurn Us - Again, no clue, but probably refers to the fact that the Crystal Stars work for both good and evil. It would fit the fact that the "Great Ones" are the heroes who sealed the Shadow Queen away, since you can hear a part of the legend about them that says that they were cursed BECAUSE they had the Crystal Stars.
Stones Have Power of Stars - Crystal Stars, again. SO obvious. They're stones, and they have immense power. Power of the stars?
And That the Skies Lie - ...No clue? Maybe a reference to the opening story before the title screen, where a book shows the town being wrecked. You see lightning in the sky, which looks like a natural calamity of some sort, but the truth is that a demon destroyed the town.
But the Stars Bring Balance - Most likely a reference to the fact that the Crystal Stars can bring order or chaos to the world, depending on who controls them. The Crystal Stars don't know who is evil and who is good, so it works for whatever they're used for.
That's what I think. :/ Of course, "the Great Ones" COULD be the Shadow Sirens. Who knows? I guess the only way to know for sure is to ask Nintendo themselves....

Yes, it's very possible. You don't even need hex editing. You just need to place them through Direct Map16 Access. They'll ALWAYS come back then, though it's also when you leave the level and come back to it through screen exits... Not a pretty thing to do, but it gets what you're wanting, at least, right?

I could help with level design, but if that gets full, I doubt there's anything else I could do. (The only graphics I'm even remotely good at are rips made by drawing things I see in pics and stuff by hand...and that's not much.) Good luck on your hack, BTW.

It's been what, four days since an update? Wow. Well, I only have 1 new screen for you. I'd have more, but I'm trying to keep my newest GFX a *SECRET*. I can tell you this: It's for interiors. But it's so awesome to me, I'm not gonna show you unless you beg me on MSN. Or until a demo comes. Whichever happens first. XD Anyways, I've decided on a story. Starts out....kinda like PM:TTYD.
Luigi wakes up one morning to find Mario gone. A note near his bed reads, "Dear Luigi, Bowser has kidnapped Princess Peach again. I am off to save her. See you soon! ~Mario". Since he has the house all to himself (yet again), he makes himself some breakfast and decides to go for a walk. On his way back, he finds a letter left for him. Whoever wrote it didn't leave their name or a return address, so he hesitantly opens it... The letter says, "Dear Mario Bros., I need your help! Please come to the Gem Valley before it's too late!!" Luigi thinks back to his trip to the Waffler Kingdom (or whatever it was called, I forgot) and how he got such a similar letter. Anticipating the worst, he sets off for the Gem Valley. Upon reaching the valley, he is greeted by a mysterious white Yoshi. He introduces himself as Karashi and explains the situation. He lives in the Clock Tower south of the Monkey Jungle, and recently, it's been under attack by a mysterious magician with a very odd face, and never stops smiling, even when angry. This magician wanted to know about how to get to the Star Rod, but Karashi refused to tell. Thus, the magician started to use his magic to try to destroy the Clock Tower. Thus, Karashi revealed to the magician that he needed the 7 Rainbow Stars to get to the Star Rod. He said that even he does not remember the locations of the Rainbow Stars, so the magician vowed to find them, then come back to find out how to use them to get to the Star Rod. The magician then vanished. Karashi was very afraid at that moment, for he knew where they were- They were hidden in the Clock Tower! So he took the Stars and sent them to random places so that he would not know their locations. The magician discovered this and went back to punish Karashi. He barely got away before the magician decided that it wasn't worth it to end his game....yet... So he went after the Rainbow Stars... And then he summoned Luigi for help. "Please, Luigi! Help us all! Find the Rainbow Stars before Dimentio does!!" Luigi, hearing the name "Dimentio", gets chills down his spine. "D-DIMENTIO?! B-but his game was ended! I saw it myself!!" says Luigi. "Ah ha ha ha ha.... Alas, dear Luigi! What you saw isn't the whole truth!" says a voice. Just then, a mysterious burst of magic strikes Karashi and knocks him off the ledge! Using the last of his power, he warps himself back to the Clock Tower and seals it with a magical barrier. Luigi looks around for the source of the magic, and sees a fearsome sight right behind him- Dimentio. "D-Dimentio! W-what are you doing here?! How did you come back?!" "Ah ha ha ha ha... Such fear! If you really must know, before my game was ended, I created a clone of myself...to hold every last bit of power I had left. And with that power, the clone revived me using an ancient spell that could only be used once... But alas, my power was weak then... But now... Now I am strong again! Why don't you just sit back and enjoy the show as I get the 7 Rainbow Stars and ultimately get the Star Rod? There's no way you can stop me! Ah ha ha ha ha!" replies Dimentio. "No! I won't let you! I'll stop you if it's the last thing I do! You'll pay, Dimentio! I'm not gonna let you have ultimate power again like you did when you got control of the Chaos Heart!" "Ah! Such courage from a coward! I could end your game where you stand right now if I wanted, but I shall be kind for now and let you live! But stay out of my plans, or else you will meet your end swiftly! Ciao!" And with that, Dimentio flies off, leaving Luigi in fear (again). Gathering up some courage, Luigi looks around and spots a pipe. He promptly hops in and begins his quest to stop Dimentio from ruling the whole world by getting control of the Star Rod...
*whew* Long story. Please note the absences of Mimi and Dr. Wily. Alas, I have taken both of them out! But like a sudden windstorm at a kindergarten playground, Mimi shall appear when you least expect it! XD Anyways, Mimi's not gonna be playable for a few reasons:
1: I don't feel like changing her tiles around so holding and stuff will look right.
2: I want Custom Music! D:
3: ....Because of a spoiler of World 7, Castle Bleck.
Dr. Wily's out for two reasons:
1: The only sprite I could use for him is Carol's sprite. And I know a lot of people who will complain to me about "uniqueness"... >_>
2: Robot Masters. I can't make 'em all. D:
I don't wanna use the SMW Bowser boss for Dr. Wily...
Oh, right! The pic!

It's a lock. Boring? I drew it myself. From scratch. Using like, a small part of it shown in my PM:TTYD Player's Guide. Yay. So yeah, the Star Key doesn't unlock those blocks in that house anymore. In fact, those blocks are gone. And that shed is now 3 screens long. Screen 00 is the entrance through that locked door. Screen 01 is the pipe to the end of the level. Screen 02 is the pipe you come in from if you go in through the house. Leads right back into the house, but you can't get into the pipe that way. There's a wall of glass blocking your path.
Sigh. So there we have it. I can't remember if there was anything else I wanted to say, so... If I think of anything, I'll be sure to let you guys know what it is...
Edit: Changed the story to show the Yoshi's name, which is Karashi.

I guess he wants to make them dissapear (Forever) once they're collected
So... I guess you'll need an ASM hack or something... or just leave it like that...
No no no. You have it backwards. Extended Objects Yoshi Coin vanishes forever until you either lose a life without 5 or more, or reset the game if you DO. He wants to make it so it does that, but they come back if you leave the level to the OW and come back to it.

...Yes, it's a double-post, but... I NEEDS TO SHOW YOU GUYS SOME NEW PICS! D: I have new Luigi tiles! INTRODUCING....

....Mario & Luigi Luigi?!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, Boing, I know that, but I seriously need better GFX for Luigi than SMB3 Luigi. I'm waiting for a friend of mine to be able to make the tiles I want, though....
Internoob: ...I highly doubt I could get much of those. Especially since the hack is supposed to have SPM-styled sprites, not Mario & Luigi-styled sprites.
Supertails: What background? The one on the pic with Luigi? If so, why? Is it 'cause it's so high? If so, that's because of the houses. All of them have Toad in them. Toad's palette wastes an ENTIRE PALETTE. Unfortunately, the only palette I could spare was part of the background. Part of the sky, y'know. So I...I just moved it up higher. People would complain if I didn't have it go from light to dark like SMB3 does...
