QuoteThis is so far, looking good. Why on earth should there be a public option that would eventually force you onto it.
Notice the word option, which should mean that you don't have to use it, if you don't want to. It would be there for those who either don't have healthcare because they can't afford it, or don't want to buy more expensive healthcare. You are by all means free to not use this.
QuoteI don't generally like the idea of a public option. How are they going to pay it? Taxpayer's money of course. If I wanted to pay for someone else, I think that should be a choice, not a forced action.
This seems hypocritical to me, as you have stated on multiple occasions that you don't want people who aren't alive yet to be killed (anti-abortion), but yet, you don't want to do anything to stop people who are already alive from dying.
QuoteNot to mention, this only further increases the power of the federal government, and if the federal government has too much power, then that evolves into a tyranny or dictatorship.
I can tell you right now that this won't happen. If federal government is put in charge of something that is optional, the people can choose not to utilise the option, and if few enough people use it, it'll likely be dropped anyway.
Quote(I also believe, however, if the states have too much power, then we have anarchy).
Anarchy would be if there isn't anyone in charge. Too much power (which, as I have previously stated, wouldn't happen because of this) would be dictatorship.
QuoteOh, you guys realize that the majority of this country is against Obama's health care proposal, right?
The majority of the country, or the majority of people who voted in a poll at aol.com? This question is not out of debate, but rather of curiosity. I genuinely want to see proof of this.

Well, I've changed mine now, and once I receive an image I asked for from someone, I'll make Blumiere another matching one, just because we rock. HTML and CSS are awesome.
And JavaScript to some extent

You can either learn HTML and CSS here, which I recommend doing, or, for a less educational alternative, you can request a post layout in this thread. However, the latter is likely to not get you a post layout for a little while, because the fine folks who make post layouts have all stopped doing so for whatever reason.
Also, if you choose to learn HTML and CSS, feel free to PM me with any questions you may have or post them here.

I must say all of these recent responses to mine really got me thinking, and from what you wrote, I've honestly been convinced that in the end, I was not correct on this subject. Sure, I have my disagreements with some of the things a few of you have said, but you made me realize that this health care bill will ultimately not do the USA any good, what with the country's economy the way it is right now. Maybe it could work out in fifteen years, but it just won't now. That was the point of the debate, and I believe you got your point to me, so good job.
I hereby forfeit to you all. It's been a great debate, and I found it very enlightening, to say the least. If it continues, I doubt I'll be saying anything more on the matter. Also, I have to say the thing that had the biggest impact on my thoughts was this:
Originally posted by Pyro X...if this bill is passed, the private option would be considerable weaker, seeing as it would cost doctors and insurers jobs. This bill won't help unemployment either, so that's another big flaw considering our current unemployment rate.
You made me realize, Pyro X, that the USA really isn't ready for this health care bill. It's just not the right time, what with the country's economy the way it is right now. Maybe it could work out in fifteen years, but it just won't now.
However, I'd like to hear what others think of that paragraph Pyro X wrote, as I feel there could be some very interesting opinions on it, but, as I already said, I doubt I'll be participating in this discussion anymore.

I made something in Flash for digital design class , over a period of two classes, and I'm pretty proud of myself, to say the least, especially because this is pretty much the first thing I've made in Flash.

Any criticism or compliments would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to know what I can do to improve it.

So generally, you'll want to use grey when you write, as it's more widely acceptable. As for why this difference occurs, I believe this should suffice:
Originally posted by Wikipedia, againGrey became the established British spelling in the 20th century, pace Dr. Johnson and others,[113] and it is but a minor variant in American English, according to dictionaries. Canadians tend to prefer grey. The non-cognate greyhound was never grayhound. Both Grey and Gray are found in proper names everywhere in the English-speaking world. Americans tend to differentiate spelling when comparing the color with the adjective.
Also, a little side-note, my browser's spell checker seems to only recognise gray as a proper noun, for whatever reason.

I'm pretty sure making money off of something that isn't yours is illegal, if you don't have permission, and even if you did, you'd likely have to give Nintendo most of the money you'd make, as Mario is theirs and not yours. Also, how much money you're planning to sell whatever it is you're making for could also factor into this, as the company would likely want a different percentage of your profit if you were selling it for fifty dollars US, than if you were selling it for five dollars US.
I don't think they'd care at all if you did whatever you plan to do for non-profit purposes, but yes, it's illegal to do what you plan to do without permission if you are making money off of it.
Edit: Ninja'd. Darn you, Spade.

You can either use these tools, as posted in this thread:
Or, you can use Zelda Classic and ZQuest. I highly recommend these, as they are much more easily customizable (for example, it can play MIDI files as background music without any need to convert the file to an .SPC or whatever), and are generally less frustrating, in my opinion.
Either way, you'll need to look up a tutorial for the tool you choose to use. I went ahead and found you a download for a ZQuest tutorial which can be accessed here, but I wouldn't know where to find a Hyrule Magic tutorial, so Google could be your friend I suppose.
EDIT: Forgot to point out that Zelda Classic isn't a ROM hacking tool, but an engine with which you can make your own games. I still prefer it though.

Here you go.
If what wasn't what you meant, could you please explain in further detail? I'm thinking you mean that your name seems to be invisible to those who aren't you. If that's the case, maybe you're just not online when screenshots are taken by others, if you aren't seeing your name in the online list. It's likely that Kieran coded something for the system that counts users as offline when they are inactive for certain periods of time (likely around five minutes). You'd never notice, though, as you'd be marked online again when you reload the page.
Also, if you want a screenshot of your post, try browsershots.org. It seems like it'd be a great tool for a situation like this. I also use it for some of the HTML stuff I do, as it has an option for nearly every browser on every popular OS.
However, if your posts are actually not in a spot where you believe they should be, I don't know what the problem could be.

I went ahead and edited the black out of the logo in photoshop. Here you go:

EDIT: if you want me to resize it, I can do that for you too. Just ask.

I've added a 166 pixel long purple line to that space for testing purposes, and, as you can see, it would indeed stretch the tables, slightly. I don't know if it's enough to matter, though. Also, the extra height would stretch your post area downwards significantly.

Here's a palette that took me a little while to make. I was going for a mossy look, if it wasn't completely obvious. Note that I haven't touched sprites yet but I plan to soon. It's for a level in my first serious hack, which I plan to make about one world long.
Here's the .tpl file.
Also, any tips on improving it would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of making the background's colors look a bit closer to the foreground's.

Some of my favorite games on GameBoy are Wario Land 3 and 4, for GameBoy color and GameBoy Advance, respectively. Another fun game for GBC is Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, because, even though it's a remake of the original Super Mario Bros., it has a lot of really awesome extras that weren't in the original game, like some special sections where you race Boo to the end of a level. Also, if you get a high enough score - 300000, if I recall correctly - you unlock a remake of The Lost Levels.
On Nintendo 64, I'd say my favorites are Kirby 64, which is my favorite Kirby game, because you can combine multiple powers to get all new ones, like the ability to throw exploding ninja stars, or the ability to turn into stone sculptures of your partners from Kirby's Dreamland 3. I'd also recommend Yoshi's Story, because it's a nice easy game to pass your time with, without worrying about getting frustrated. Also, you've likely already played it, but Paper Mario is my favorite video game ever. It's just such a diverse game, and for one so long, you never really feel as if it's just dragging on, unlike a lot of longer text-heavy games.
On SNES, I'd say Earthbound, because it's an awesome parody of American culture, mixed with some sci-fi elements and lots of silly humor. The music in this game is also totally awesome. Earthbound is highly recommended by me, as it's one of about four RPG's that I could actually enjoy, and it's just an all-around awesome game.

What's this? Frequent updating of my art thread?! Blasphemy!
Anyways, I made this while doing homework. It's supposed to be a fsjal version of my avatar. This one was pretty much made because I was trying not to focus, as math review is redundant an boring. Consider it an expression of the small amount of fun in the vast expanse bleakness that is the world, or something.

This did actually take effort, I spent about twenty minutes on it.
The only reason I didn't add whiskers is that it looks better without them, as I can't draw whiskers. Maybe I'll attempt tomorrow, but not now. Even so, it's pretty good considering I made it with a trackpad.
Hrm, what a delicious hundredth post.
