However, after we played this match, we decided to play a few normal games without the pressure to win the tourney and on a place that didn't let you fall so easily. He was actually really good when doing those matches. He's a very nice guy, and I commemorate him for taking this loss in such a good manner. Thanks to him for giving me the video file so that I could upload it (he made my last video, too).
Looking forward to my match with Whoamme! Too bad I suck massively against Falco. >:[
I wouldn't really call it unfair, I was just being clumsy. I watched the video of your match with Chikane, and noticed you tried to do a meteor smash whenever he went off the side. So when I saw you run toward the edge my reaction was to move back, but I screwed up my up+b in the process. Then I was nervous because of the thought that I had to KO you twice in two minutes. My second fall was a desperate attempt to get a good hit on you .
You really did good, and I'll be rooting for you in the later matches.

Hahaha posts with content.
Some of the characters that I like usually boil down to "___ is cool" but there are a few exceptions. The ones I listed in my last post were only ones I could think of a reason or two for.
Mighty Gazelle: Is my favorite racer in the recent F-Zero games. Honestly, while a lot of people usually relate the series with Captain Falcon, Falcon isn't even in my top 10 list of racers. Mighty Gazelle has a badass backstory. In a nutshell he was a famous racer who absolutely loved F-Zero racing, and got severely injured in a major accident that happened in a past Grand Prix. Despite the fact that he needs a robotic body to live, he still enters the Grand Prix races regardless of people who complain that his robotic body gives him "unfair advantages". When you play the game as Captain Falcon, Mighty Gazelle is usually the character in first place all of the time.
Skull Kid: One of my favorite characters in the Zelda series (I'm refering to the Skull Kid that appears in OoT/MM/TP as the same). Skull Kid is cool. I liked how they made a pretty insignificant character from OoT the main villain in the direct sequel, even though it wasn't really him that was evil.
The Postman: Love the Postman in Majora's Mask so much. I hate what they did with him in Twilight Princess, as he was actually very awesome in Majora's Mask. While some of his characterizing actions are obscure, such as when he writes/mails/delivers a letter to himself begging him to flee before the moon crashes into Termina, his more prominent personality is really great. While he's very serious about following his schedule, he ends up being a humorous NPC (but in a good way, unlike the TP Postman).
Spike: Obscure game and probably obscure character, but Spike was the most memorable opponent in Mario Tennis GBC for me. He's so overconfident, and actually puts up a challenge in the tournament with his curve balls. I dunno, he's just cool.
Navel/"Little Guy": He's cool. Can't really explain any better, he comes across as a likable character in the cutscenes he's in and is helpful, despite being clueless at some parts of Trauma Team. In Trauma Center: Second Opinion, I honestly don't remember too much about him but he seemed like an ass back then. The change from Second Opinion -> Trauma Team was a great improvement.
Gabriel Cunningham: is cool. Like, hilariously smart/cool. He's honestly the best main character in Trauma Team. He also doesn't care about your fourth wall.
Godot: My favorite character in the Ace Attorney series. Can't help but feel bad for him by the end of the Trials and Tribulations. You don't really know much about him early in the game, but at the end, when everything finally comes together in the last two cases, it really makes for an amazing finale.
Teddy: Every game needs a Teddy. He's so hilariously clueless. Easily one of the most likeable characters in Persona 4. That's really the most I can say about him. If you've played the game, you know he's a great character already.

Before there was a Brawl tier list, my mains were Meta Knight and Snake. Now I just look like someone who cares about the tier list too much .

Glad you liked it, but I honestly thought some of the other levels were better (LunarDrake's and "Mario in Japan" were pretty cool). IIRC your level was the one with the badass castle graphics. Not sure if those were original hand-drawn graphics, but if they were then holy crap they're amazing.
Also, SNN, could you update the link to my patch in the submissions thread? It's apparently been the bad link for the past six days. I posted a working one a page back or so.

It really bothered me that they got rid of dying.
There were a few things I liked about the game, but there were still many problems I had with it as a Kirby game, and even as its own game. But my main complaint was the lack of any sort of consequences for playing poorly. The only "challenge" comes from trying to complete the game 100%, and even then there's no in-game reward for doing so.
Games like Wario Land 2 did a much better job at the "No-Deaths" gimmick. While you can't die, getting hit by an enemy can knock you off the platform you're on or send you far back. Boss battles would be reset if you were knocked off the screen. And completing the game 100% unlocked multiple paths, a hidden minigame, an optional ending, etc.

Ok, so I made this underwater house a few weeks ago. And there's this huge mine I dug up underneath it.
I started playing again earlier this week and when I went down to the mine, which was always completely safe before the Halloween update, there were five creepers at the bottom and some terrifying "clicking" and footstep sounds in the background when those were taken care of.
What the hell happened in the last update?

After finishing Tales of the Abyss, I'd have to say that I'd throw Jade and Guy in there as two of my favorite characters.

I'm interested to see what the fanbase thinks of the new game at release. It seems to me from the gameplay videos that the game will be good and true to the original three, but for games like these a lot of fans tend to criticize even the most subtle differences. I don't know if this is true or not since I haven't really examined the gameplay videos, but I already saw someone complain that you don't get a "boost" when rolling into an enemy. Also no Kremlings.
I'm hoping this game doesn't turn into one of those games everyone gets too hyped up for and then becomes disappointing to them. I've seen a LOT of people say DKCR looks like the best game in the DKC series, so I could see this sort of ending up like Zelda: Twilight Princess. But I really don't want that to happen for this.
Not saying I don't think it will be a good game. It looks like a great game so far. I'm just expecting a lot of fans to be disappointed in the end because of any changes they make.

Congrats TLMB and HuFlungDu!
I'm very happy with my score. Within .5 points of the last four in the Top 5! That's a big step up from the last contest I entered.

Hell yeah, though, i preffer Luke then Guy, and Peony as well.
I like almost all of the characters in that game. What I liked about Guy was how he was like the best possible friend you could ever imagine in a lot of scenes, like after the first segment in the Qliphoth, in the ending, and some other scenes. Even though there was that whole other part of his backstory going on (I'm trying as hard as I can to avoid spoilers), he seemed to not let that get to him as much later in the game. Also his phobia.
And Peony is awesome.

Depends upon what your definition of Vanilla is. As far as I'm aware, it was originally only used to describe a contest where you were limited in what you could edit. That being said, following the rules listed in this thread would probably be enough to call it a "Vanilla" hack.
To answer your specific questions according to the rules listed there:
can I use Transhexion - No.
fixing patches - As long as it's for a fix, check the list in the thread.
can I use 16x16 editor to make water act like lava - Yes.

Usually when there's a tie, some places get skipped. Like, since LunarDrake and ZMann tied for 4th place, 5th place gets skipped and the next hack gets 6th place. Unless we're using Vanilla 2010 rules.

I get the feeling that it's a good game, but ya'll are sticking the bar so high because it has kirby in it. Maybe it isn't so great a kirby game, but is it a decent game in it's own right?
I don't really follow the Kirby series too much, so I don't exactly have any high expectations for games in the series.
Even as it's own game, I felt the lack of any consequences for playing poorly, the low difficulty in general, and the consistently slow-paced nature of the game really dragged this game down IMO. The game's redeeming quality for me was its art style, and how it was incorporated into the gameplay. But aside from that, everything felt boring and I never really had the incentive to replay any of the levels.
My thoughts anyway.. !
