From what I see, I cannot tell whether your level design is good or not. The best screenshots are those where the level is more active. The screenshots you provided don't really tell us about the level. By the way, I love the background in the first screenshot. Just so you know zsnes has a built-in screenshot feature, as the screenshot with the digging chuck was not complete (the top of the screenshot was cut out)

If you want to make the story funnier, say that Morton has stolen a delicious piece of wedding cake. For those who don't know the reference, go to this site
Lol I have not been on that site since I was in middle school.
Anyway, if possible, you should try to incorproate your contest enty into this hack (it might not be possible due to gfx and map16 mismatch, but if you can overcome that, then go for it!)
Also, the screenshot on the left, what is with the right side of the yellow pipe? Was that a side effect of palette editing?
Also, love how you used the rainbow colors for the status bar (just make sure it won't be distracting in a way that the player cannot concentrate on level hazards)

Yeah I realized that. This was especially unfair with the ghosts, since if one of them was hiding behind a ribbon, you would not know that it was there. I should not have enabled layer priority...

I think I already mentioned what was wrong with the layout of my level, as did a few others. I don't think we need to discuss that anymore, we are just beating a dead plumber by doing so.

You say nothing about the second one, which is the one that gets Mario the most.
Then that's user error. Not much is going on, you have time to observe what is ahead, and you can actually plan around it.

Then you should not have went through making the level the way you did.
Well maybe I wanted to make it that way? If there was a problem with every idea, we would be nowhere in life.
Actually, not EVERY idea has a problem. Chances are, you would have come up with an even better idea that would be acceptable.

Originally posted by DinomarI changed mind: actually i wanna know some opinions about my level, but from those streamers, though, not from the judges: i want to know the opinion of the judges after the results. What did people say in the stream chat about my level?
They were amazed at the graphics. Then they were trying to identify which tiles each thing was composed of. They put it in the "5 - I can't beleive it's not buttery" folder.

I don't know if this is good, or bad... xD
EDIT: Gosh, my entry have 75 screens on the dot, that was close!
(Yeah, level+cutscenes minus credits (That are not counted towards the score))
Lucky you. That would suck if yours was disqualified or docked points for exceeding 75 screens, given that you had the best cutscenes of all the entries.

The design looks really nice, but after a certain point, the only enemies were red and blue snifts. Unless there is a reason for this (relating to the plot), I would like to see a larger variety of enemies.

In a one-level hack, cutscenes are supposed to give the player a sense of progression. But if you leave all of them for the end...well, you just wasted a bunch of screens. Now if the contest was not a level design contest, but a "most clever use of vanilla stuff" contest, then sure, go ahead (has there been/will there be such a contest?)

Lol I hope you did not start raging over that level. If you did, I apologize for that.
