Tip: Take advantage of easy to install Patches in your hack. The No More Sprite Tile Limits patch should be considered if you're encountering glitches where Mario and/or sprites are turning invisible.

Hey! I'm trying to find the (Kazio?) wall jumping block to add to my game. However upon trying to find it among all the massivly many blocks that came with Blocktool made it like impossible to find the block. The blocks where not in Alfabethic order (A -> Z) nor could I draw the file from the folder directly into the Blocktool to try and save me some time. Is there any tip or two that you could tell me about this program that could help me save some time? :D
Is my layout black? Or is it like a grey whirlwind thingy in the background? I dont know but I cannot see it. Perhaps Filebin. pictures aint that smart using as layouts, hm?

Got any other suggestions of what I could use? This is the third time I cant view my layout and therefore reuplodaded the picture on Filebin many times.

I just had to wait for the picture to show up, sorry. Close this

Yeah I know, so I downloaded it. The problem is that I cannot seem to find it among all the other blocks using "Add Block".

I put the Wall jumping file in the same folder as where blocktool and all the other blocks are placed.
In Lunar Magic, click Level -> Change index of Graphics in header.

You will get a small box on the screen. Make sure the first white bar says (Switch Palace 1) and the other one says (Switch Palace)

Hope this helps :)

Alright, ill try it out. Thanks!
Oops! Sorry about that.

Try this instead.

Also, level 8 uses the Switch Palace graphics I think. If you put in the infomation the picture shows then you should be able to put Yoshi's House there.

Thanks Haz, but I just need to check something.

This was my attempt, I tried and do like you told. Many times it failed directly so after some attempts, this is how it came out:

The one to the left is a working one that was there before I started messing up stuff, and the right one is the Walljump attempt I made.

Hello there! For some time ago I tried to add in some custom ExGFX backgrounds to my game. Back then I was totally unfamiliar with this and I was doing one or two mistakes too many. During my failures, I accidently triggered something that I think is very bad..

The original SMW BG graphics are totally garbled! How this happened? It must have during when I didnt know how to use F3 and F9 at the correct time. Dumb me pressed F2, F5 and so on... aswell. Is this restorable without having to reset everything I have done?

This is how it should look like:

And this is how it looks like *pukes*:

Is there any Ripped graphics of the original BG from SMW here on the site to download, or somewhere else? Or is there any other way?
Alright, so all I got to do is just load those files in Lunar Magic using the F3 and then F9 on page 10 and/or 11?

Nevermind I got it to work.

Tack så mycket :)

Oh and one more thing. Does these pages only fix up the cave graphics?
Or all?

Upon editing FG3 to make add custom tiles, the original backgrounds are garbled no matter what. Should I move my custom tiles to a diffrent FG perhaps?

This is currently what it looks like (the course) using FG3.

MIDDLE WINDOW: That is supposed to be the background of Castle #3, but with a diffrent palette because of the tiles.

Sorry that I'm making the size of this thread funky

I also root for the top right one, however it looks a little weird with like two layers of black in the bottom (IMO). But otherwise really nice.
Suits very well. The rock looks more natural. (However 16 bit could look natural anyway lol.)
Hello again guys. Long time.

I have decided to put up SMW hacking again now. And might aswell bring up the problems aswell *sigh*. Here we go again.

Anyway, after some time I managed to make a new unique course for my hack. I also wanted to edit the background to some custom ExGFX.

I used one of edit1754's graphics for my course. Upon using it, I encountered two really awkward bugs which bullied me too much. Check this out.

*Sorry for the huge pictures. I just love them too much...*

Now, as the picture shows: The mushroom "pillars?" are horribly coloured. I'd like to use one of the original colors for them (For this example light brown)

But that's not the worst. The sprites here are badly messed up! All exept the Koopas (which never changes no matter which Sprite GFX is set) are badly garbled. Even if I try edit their Sprite GFX to Mushroom (which worked fine before editing background) doesnt change them back, or garble them any worse. They are the same no matter what. The FG/BG GFX doesnt help solving this in any way. It just garbles the grounds.

I am most certain its the background that messes this up.

If I unmark that box, the background gets screwed up, sure. But the spirtes goes back to normal (If the Sprite GFX is set right).

Can I solve this somehow without having to replacing the custom background? My CTRL-F searching aint working so finding any cool "Forest" ExGFX is barely possible to find for me in the list.

Thanks for reading this massive post!
Yoshicookiezeus saves the day once again! Thanks a bunch buddy :D
The sprite graphics are allright now. I had no idea how these SP thingies worked until now, or well...I still really dont know... ._.

Now, we got that solved. Is there any way that I can re-color the mushroom pillars (and the ropes too!) without having to use YY-CHR? The "Palette Editor" has all features locked (the text is faded on the buttons). Say, maybe I could change the colors by changing the SP numbers, eh Zeus?

EDIT: Nevermind. I found out that you could still edit the colors in "Palette Editor" even if the button texts were faded (It made me think it not possible to edit.)

This may be closed if so wished by the moderators.

I dont know how to remove that, since I got that bug myself on one of my levels. But I managed to solve that by copying all Layer 1 (The ground and blocks and stuff) and all the sprites into a new level. Try do that and it the water bug should not occur.

Theres something fishy with the level that you use. May I dare to ask: Is it level 102?

Hmm, hacking Yoshi's Island looks really interesting.
But you don't use Lunar Magic for that, do you?

If not, could you please tell me what the program is called?

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post this on!

Lol! :D

If you want to remove layer 3 (The transparent water at the bottom) so that the water bug goes away, you can enter "Change Other Properties", the water button with fishes on the next to the Lakitu Head and the poison mushroom.

In the window, change "Layer 3 Options" and pick "No Layer 3"

Hope that helps :)
