Hi, I'm Trying to make a SMW hack that Contains the Vegtables from SMB2 (USA)
Anyone have any ideas about where I can Get somthing like this/how I can make this? thanks.
Thanks MrDeePlay, for the Files
And Sorry yoshicookiezeus, wasn't quite sure where to put it. Thanks for letting me know (and moving it for me!)
I had to make a new thred because I couldn't "double-post"
Can someone explain to me how to, (I guess you could say "patch"?) An ASM file To a rom? I am basically new to Rom hacking, in the past i only did Basic hacks, And now I'm trying to get back into hacking.
So Can someone please explain to me how to? thanks.
Thanks!
Well, Now I'm just Kinda confused in general. So I put in the patch into the rom. Now what do I do? I guess it's for the situation specifically-- I am trying to get a ASM for vegtables from SMB2
I got a Zip that had 3 files for it- Veggieplant.asm Veggie.asm
and Veggie.cfg. When I patch Veggieplant.asm, It's fine. When I patch Veggie.asm, I just get a string of errors. And I don't know what to do with the .cfg file. Someone please help. I am confused.
And now Spritetool is complaining there's no memory. why is this so hard?!?!!?!
And Still getting errors when I try to patch the plain "veggie.asm"
Why does this Stupid thing Hate me?!?!
Here are the errors

Error1

Error2

I'm not perfect with Html, so I'm not sure if they will both be good links...

Maybe it's this-- I'm working with a comletely Clean Rom-- No editing yet. Could it be that? Someone just please help!

What the... What kind of tool is that?

Are you sure you're using Romi's Sprite Tool found in the "Tools" section?

(Sind) Ok, SO I know the problem with that

(whiteyoshiegg)- I didn't download it off this site-- Could be a knockoff\virus thing... I really dont know. I'll redownload it (off here)

So, Now what do I do? I downloaded the correct spritetool... Now I'm Lost. My signature is 100% true.

Thank You SO Much!!!
What is the Hex value for the "coin" sound; the sound you hear when you get a coin?

If you want a full list, there's one in the Documents section.

Thanks!
Sometimes, on some of my hacks, Ch.5 sound doesn't output any noise, although it is still enabled. Anyone know why? does anyone know a fix?

Hello, again. This one's tricky to explain, and it's just a guess, but!

The SNES uses sound channels 5, 6, and 8 for sound effects in Super Mario World. When a sound effect, like Mario jumping, plays on one of those channels, that musical data is temporarily paused until the sound effect is finished playing.

Also, there probably is sound coming from that channel, you just need to listen closer :D. Music hackers are smart and usually put a bass on channel 5. The bass isn't that important, so if it gets cut off, no one will notice much. There probably is sound coming from channel 5, it's probably just REALLY quiet.

If you at least understood the first paragraph, that's all you need to know. Unfortunately, there's no way to fix this because it's just the way the SNES was designed.

I understand what you mean, But here's how i know it's not that-- On the yoshi's Island overworld map, the high pitched part, where all the other channels stop playing, you don't hear anything. It's kinda hard to explain-- I'm assuming it might be My emulator, i'm going to see if changing it/using an old version will work.
How do you use level 2 in a regular level, such as it is used in level 9? Because it says that layer 2 is set to use an image, not an object, but i would like to use it for objects. Anyone know how?
How do I prevent layer 2 from scrolling while using it with objects in a level? It still scrolls as if it were Background.
Would it be allowed to just copy a gfx to a different spot to fix the transluscent item box? or is that illegal for the contest?
One more question... for now.
Is Palette editing OK?
thanks.
What level is the intro thing? (when you first go into the hack-- has the level message on it to introduce the game)
