| Hack ||Year || Information || Link |
|Mario Bros Adventure Land ||2012 || My first hack. It's a mess for the most part with bad palettes, weird design choices, and an odd difficulty curve. It's not all bad though, it has a functioning OW, which you probably will never see me do again. || Hack Page |
|VLDC8 Level: Cave Of Bones ||January 2015 || This level was an entry for the Vanilla Level Design Contest 8 (VLDC8). It was basically a shorter version of the first level in my first hack, but with slight layout changes, dragon coins, and less enemies. It got 60th place. Pretty decent for a lazy submission I've got to say. ||Hack Page |
|The Seven Hurdles ||June 2015 ||My second hack. It got me back into the hacking scene. During making it I learnt how to insert/use custom graphics & how to insert custom sprites. It's also slightly better design wise too. It uses SMAS styled graphics. Though graphically it doesn't look the best & can quite often confuse people at times. ||Hack Page |
|VLDC9 Level: Square Land ||February 2016 ||Second time entering one of these contests and all I can think to do is add squares. |
I believe my actual reasoning for that was because I just discovered how to use Layer 2, so my entry was a testing ground for it. The visuals were mainly an experiment that sadly failed. It got 78th place.

|The Seven Hurdles 2 ||June 2016 ||My third hack which was a sequel to my second hack. I removed the OW completely. Returning to mostly vanilla graphics with tileset mixing. It's not graphically confusing like the previous one. It taught me how palettes worked, how to use HDMA, how to use custom blocks, and some other neat things. |
The most notable thing about this hack is that it got picked up by speedrunners for a few months, which made me realise that I sure do love using autoscroll.

|Summer Level Design Contest 2016 Level ||August 2016 ||I entered a different contest this time and got fourth last place. My entry was a quick walk to the beach on a rainy day. Remember it's meant to be Summer themed, and in certain places Summer isn't always what most people imagine. I can see why it didn't do very well. It was really short. ||Download |
|CLDC 2016 Level: Holy Heavens ||October 2016 ||Here I go again chancing my luck in another new contest. This time it's the Chocolate Level Design Contest (CLDC). I got back to SMAS styled graphics to see if I can at least make a graphically nice looking level using those graphics. It worked, it looked way better than the attempts in my second hack. Though obviously it wasn't enough to impress the judges. It got fifth last place. |
At the end of the day, the angels came down & gave some the gift of laughter. *hiccup
|VLDCX Level: Bowel Relaxation ||February 2017 ||It's my third time entering one of these contests. This time I played it kinda safe. I made a sewer level (hence the name of the level) using elements from the ghost house tileset. It taught me that Swoopers are a pain in the ass to actually use. |
With this level I wanted to experiment with hiding objects behind each other. This is why dragon coins & the secret exit are necessary to fully complete the level. I'd say I'm happy with the result, even if the judges don't agree with me making a reference to my VLDC9 level in the secret exit.
|Download || OSDLC Level: The Boney Crew: ||June 2017 ||Another day, another contest. This time it's the Old School Level Design Contest. (OSLDC or OLDC) In this contest you are restricted in the sense that the level is meant to be pure vanilla. Which means, no custom music, map16, tileset mixing, palette changing, glitch abusing, .etc. I basically made a simple airship using the Sunken Ghost House as a base. It turned out okay-ish. Though because I was ill half way through the process, it might not have turned out how I originally envisioned it. |
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that it autoscrolls.
