Tip: The lowest row of 16x16 tiles in a level do not appear. Avoid having a low platform that looks like a bottomless pit.

User bio: My Journey, to how I found SMW Central, and worked my way up to ROM Hacking.

I have always enjoyed game design. It all started when i was 8 years old. I started off on a online flash game, called "Super Mario Flash". I would spend all day, making levels of my own, and then being super excited to have my two big brothers play it! ^^ Mostly my big brother Anthony. And sometimes, even my mom! ^^ (but she's a gamer, so its ok. Lol)

I began getting bored of the limitation of "Super Mario Flash"'s levels design capabilities. I would always enjoy watching kaizo hack let's plays, and always dreamed of the day, where i would have the capability of making one of my own. My favorite kaizo letsplay, was of "Super Khold World", which was a co-op by "The Khold One", and "Tatsudoshi".

One day, i went online, and googled, "editing super mario world". That was the first time i have ever stumbled upon the Lunar Magic website. The pictures were so beautiful to me. I wanted to download it, but i was super unfamiliar with what "downloading" was, and since my mother told me not to download anything on to this computer, it got me even more worried to even figure out how to download. (It was my own laptop, so i really don't get why she cared).

I continued with super mario flash for about a year, and every now and again, I'd find the lunar magic website, and look at the pictures, and fantasize about the day i had it.

So, about a year later, when i was 9, i moved to live with my father, where i also had a laptop. I knew then i was able to download things, but, my mother had me kinda dramatized how it was "hacking", and made it sound all bad, for i didn't realize how harmless it really was... Yet. As a result, I looked, for what felt like years, for some kind of Super Mario Brothers game designing thing. I ended up downloading all sorts of stuff, until one day, when I was 11, found an amazing program, called SMB GameMaster. It was the best thing ever! It had objects, sprites, and tiles, all from smb, smb 2, smb 3, smw, even galaxy! Yes.... This was when Wii JUST came out. So, i used smb gamemaster for ever! And it was so much fun! My dad would tell me to get off the cpu every now and again, for i used it to much.

Then, when it was, i think spring break...(Btw, i was in 6th grade at the time) i went to go visit my mother for the first time since i moved from her. She had moved to Tennessee. why?.... that's a whole other story. I couldn't bring my laptop 😞, but i got to use her computer. And there, i made my first ever RPG with SMB GameMaster! Also while i was there, at a point, when i had nothing better to do, i re-watched Super Khold World for the first time in bout a year or two. Man was it funny. It altered my dream from making "making my own game", to "making my own game, then making a letsplay of it."

During the "Super Khold World" LP, i heard somewhere that they used something called zsnes, so i googled it. I searched all over for info on it, and when i was convinced, downloaded it... and it was awesome! It felt so cool to have what all those people in the letsplays had! So, then i figured out what a rom was, and downloaded Super Mario World. I felt greater then I've ever felt ever!!!

I knew i was getting closer to my dream of making an lp of a game i made. Then, i tried to make an LP of my SMB GameMaster Game.... For some resin, fraps doesn't record that program well, so that didn't work.

Then.......... stumbled upon the Lunar Magic website once again........ And i downloaded lunar magic, then opened it, and had no idea how to even load a ROM to it. Lol... So, i used google, and figured it out. I was unaware though, that i actually got the info, from SMW Central. So i went back to lunar magic, loaded the rom, and when i saw level 106 right in front of me, my eyes might have teared. It felt like one of the greatest moments in my life.

So, it took me about a week, of never leaving the computers side. (Well, maybe every now and again...) But with the help of SMW Central, and SMW Wiki, i was able to figure out lunar magic's basic commands. And with that knowledge, i had completed, my first kaizo. It was so great and i loved it so much. I couldn't wait to LP it.

I remembered from school that my friend told me that he used something called fraps to record the screen. So i got that. (After like a thousand other screen recorders i tried to download that sucked) Of course, it wasn't the full version. I was smart enough to find a cracked version of it though.

(Btw, this is still taking place in Tennessee, i haven't left yet. Just so you know.)

Then, every night from then on, i stayed up all night, trying to think of a good LP user name. Then, i thought about Kholds user name, who was also known as "The Khold One" I liked the sound of the name, so i wanted something similar. I eventually came up with Qwholl, (pronounced cwoal), and decided to call my self, "The Qwholled One". Qwholled also meaning cold.

Then, i named my hack, Super Qwholled World!. And made my first LP of it! It was so much fun!!! 😃

Eventually, i switched from being The Qwholled One, to The Qwholl One (without the "ed"), for it to be a play-on-words for, The Cool One.

I later found out how much more there was to SMW rom hacking, then what Super Mario World had to provide. That was when i ended up joining SMW central. And so...... The adventure begins!
