The difficulty balancing in the 2017 release of the hit game Real Life is nothing short of atrocious. It's been a problem for a few years, but this is the first time it's actually made an impact on the quality. If you die, you go ALL the way back to the beginning of the game. There are NO opportunities for extra lives, and each stage seems like it was designed by a sadist - "Emotion" in particular feels like it's from a Pit hack. The "politics" game mechanic also gets in the way. Why do I have to hear about Donald Trump doing stupid things every four seconds? Consistency? It STOPS ALL MOVEMENT. And don't get me started on the microtransactions. Why should I pay 5 dollars every time I want to buy some food to replenish my health, which causes me to DIE if it runs out? Overall, I do not recommend this game. Play something like Cuphead instead.
