I don't know why this was rated so high. I just finished recording a video of this hack, and it really didn't impress me too much. Early levels felt flat and featureless, while later levels were overly difficult. I quit before finishing the final level because of a jump because it's nearly impossible to make.
I believe you're supposed to bounce off the Bouncin' Chuck who WAS there. Unfortunately, there's a very small window of opportunity to do so, making it pretty unfair, even for an endgame level. There were other questionable design choices as well, such as having to use Bob-Ombs to clear a wall of Turn Blocks. This wouldn't be a problem if it were for an optional side-path, but this is mandatory.
While many of the custom graphics look nice, albeit simplistic, I'm not too fond of the foreground graphics used for "The City." They don't look like building tops AT ALL. While we're on the topic of aesthetics, I should also mention that the palette for the file select menu on the title screen is bad.
Another problem is that some of the music doesn't quite fit the settings, such as the King Dedede theme in the level with the Boo Cloud and "Here We Go" playing in a gloomy level with a lightning generator and a dull gray background palette.
I was going there to do something else, and I founf this hack...
and I played & finished in 1 hour. And is PRETTY COOL!
The OST is OUTSTANDING,and the boss fight is that were real misses on the original SMW game:one best than others^^
At beginning it seems a Super Mario World turotial;then something not easy is showing off and things becomes more interesting.
I don't like easy games, but this has gived me something that I will never forget:I suggest to do a series to this cute tree^^
I suggest to do longer level, next time, the first is much more longer than others so is not perfect hack in my opinion, but really great indeed^^
keep up good work,guys^^
A vast improvement over the previous version. Pretty much all the flaws pointed out by Koopster and me were fixed. The boss in The Present Factory still doesn't give you enough reaction time, but that's only a minor complaint. Give this a try if you're looking for something short and simple.
