Tip: Layer 3 backgrounds and tides disappear when you hit a message box, so plan your level around that. For example, you can add a sublevel without layer 3 at the start/midpoint, and include your message there.

Details for Koyukillo's amazing smb2/dokidokipanic holding patch!
This is a patch to change holding an object to work like smb2/dokidokipanic: You hold it above your head and release by pressing the button again rather then needing to hold it down. In addition goombas and sprites with the act-like byte set to be the same (most smb2 sprites are) can bounch off sprites when thrown and can hit many enemies in a row.
Now hopefully bug free, so it doesn't fail anymore!
Btw, the only changes I made were SA-1 conversion, commented out unnecessary lines (stores to "freeRAM") of code and disable spring board interaction after dropping/kicking them.
Major Flare (who moderated this patch) also put an autoclean in front of each JML due to some weird issues he had when testing.
