&
Super Mario World: The Second Reality Project (SNES-Version)
-----------------------------------
Difficulty Level: Easy -> Very hard
Playable stages: 75
Hack Status: Hack 100% Complete
------------------------------------
This is my first SMW-hack which I finished back in 2002. All the level from the original are completely changed and much harder than the original game. This hack was one of the first complete SMW-hacks, and besides of new level design it doesn't feature anything outstanding if you compare this hack with newer SMW-hacks from other SMW-hackers. No new music, no new overworld and no new graphics, no ASM-hacking, no custom blocks and whatever. However, a few years later I decided to use all these new possibilities of hacking, and remade the whole hack up to newer standarts, so 2008 "The Second Reality Project Reloaded" was created. It fixed a lot of mistakes the original game had and adds lot of new stuff.
Still I think it would be wrong to get rid of the original version just because the remake is out. Maybe I'm sentimental, but hey this hack is how it all started for me.
There are two versions included in this archive:
The original version from 2002, which gets really hard near the end.
The "SNES-version" came out 2004, and it toned down the difficulty a bit.
Storyline:
Bowser is back again, more powerful than times ago:
He was able to find a parallel Dimension and build up a big airship fleet in there because he plans a huge attack on Mushroom Kingdom. He also kidnapped the Princess one time more! A new incredible challenge for Mario and Yoshi! |

| Review by 69penis69 | This is simply one of the best vanilla hacks I have ever played. Here's my rating:
Level Design: 10/10
This is the core of this hack and is what makes it so awesome.
Graphics: 8/10
There was some cutoff here and there and some backgrounds were a little hard on the eyes (Scrap Brain Zone >.>)
Difficulty: 9/10
Very good difficulty curve though it got a little too hard at the end.
Overworld: NA/10
Music: 9/10
I've always liked SMW's soundtrack. Some of the music choice for stages were a little weird but other than that very good.
Overall: 9/10 | | Posted by: 69penis69 - 2010-06-10 05:32:42 PM |

| Review by Caped Mario2 | | This is so well made!!(I'm not judging on custom music and all that since it was like impossible put it in back in 2002.) I love the level design but it gets too unfair in the Second Reality.(especially Bowsers Starship since it's like so long and you have to be small mario the whole time) Other than that, very good. | | Posted by: Caped Mario2 - 2008-09-13 09:36:56 AM |

| Review by Mama Luigi | | I absolutely loved this hack, and when I played it, I didn't care too much about the graphics/overworld being at a low level. The level design was amazing though. For the time it was created, this is such an amazing hack. If it's going up against hacks today, it probably won't stand a chance. Good thing TSRPR is there. I'm giving this hack a 9/10. | | Posted by: Mama Luigi - 2008-07-07 12:52:43 AM |
