Description: Storyline:
A One-Eyed Big Boo called Zycloboo wants to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom, and like Bowser in "The Second Reality Project 1" he wants to use the power source from another dimension called the Second Reality to get to his goal. To get Mario out of sight (or maybe for some other reasons?) he warps Mario and his Castle in the Second Reality. Mario's only chance to stop Zycloboo is to find the Power Supply station, which can give him the power he needs for the task - or at least that's what Zycloboo told him, heeheehee!

Note: This hack isn't working right in ZSNES v1.42. Older versions (like v1.36) and newer versions (like v1.50) will work.

Even though this had to be one of the harder hacks I have played from SMWCentral, I'd have to say this is my most favorite one. I even LP'ed it, 100%, that's how good it is!

Graphics: 10/10
For its time, very good use of graphics! Almost everything was either ripped from other games, or custom made! Implemented very well too, I enjoyed the visuals the most.

Gameplay: 9/10
Challenging, although the puzzle solving was all repetitive...but it was still memorable. FPI, you've outdone the other hacks of 2006 with this one.

Story: 7/10
Very vague, as it is only told through message blocks. But it was still pretty good, because your trailer basically told the story before this game's release.

Overworld: 9/10
One of the nicest overworlds I've seen, and still is one of the nicest today. Everything is always where it seems to belong in this game's overworld map.

Music: 8/10
Everyone loves SMB3 music. Nowadays, it's all about custom music, but this game had a very SMB3 feel to it because of the music you used. I loved that feeling of nostalgia!

Difficulty: 7/10
This is where it kills me to say that the difficulty curve was a bit much. The game started off easy, but then just went into complete overdrive. It was a Kaizo type of hack, but it was pretty difficult to attempt the last couple of worlds save stateless.

Overall: 8/10
Very well done! I can't wait for The Second Reality Project 3!

This is my favorite hack on SMW Central!

graphics 10/10 amazing,i love how you mixed graphics from mario world, wario land, kirby, cheese building level graphics (i think its from alfred the chicken) etc really adds to the depth of the game

level design 10/10 levels never get boring, they are very well designed, from the athletic level where you are jumping on spinning platforms to the deku tree level where you go trough deku tree from legend of zelda this hack has unique level design (not to mention hotel horror, wich,no joke, made me scared a little)

music 10/10 you found just the right music wich fits the levels good

overworld 10/10 nicely designed, there isnt anything more to say

FINAL SCORE: 10/10

Overall this game is really awesome,as i said level design is good and unique, music fits prefectly and overworld is great designed, loved how the switch palace wasnt just:"enter it,press p switch, pick up some coins then go in the pipe and press switch",in this game, switch palaces are like levels
The game has interesting puzzles and lots of secret levels and extra levels to find (wich you can enter only one time).Difficulty was just perfect, not too hard, not too easy, right now im at cheese building 2,but what i seen before that i can give the game 10/10
this game is not a mario world hack, its a standalone mario game and a legend, wich should be made to an official mario game

One of my favorite ROM hack series is the second reality project. It's about time i had finaly gotten to give my take on it

Graphics and ExGFX: Outstanding. All of them fit very well with the style of the hack. My favorite is the SML2-style "Goo" water. 10/10

Level Design and Difficulty: Progressively hard. But hard in a sense of what you will enjoy. Long and complex levels are my favorite 9/10

Music: Great, respectable and not catchy, so they don't get stuck in my head. good job. 9.5/10

Overworld: I found myself lost a few times in where i would be put next. Other than that a very colorful and ecstatic (whatever that means?) 9/10

Story: Great. (SPOILERS!!) Immediately following the events of the first TSRP, mario is transported back into the Second Reality by Zycloboo, who had helped him escape ThirdSpace. Mario's only hope to leave is to reopen the transporter to the first reality, or is it? I found the story great and fitting with the series. 10/10

Overall: 47.5/50 95/100

An amazing hack. If you haven't played the first, i recomend doing so

What i personaly like to see is this hack remodeled like TSRPR.

what a hack should be.

Forget flashy colors and effects. This is what a hack needs to be. It was also the very first hack I ever played. And it's what inspired me to hack SMW myself.

Difficulty: SPOT ON. FPI is not afraid to get difficult on your ass. and I like it. He is one of the only hackers out there who when making a level never says to himself "Hm, maybe this is to hard, better tone it down." and that's why it's so good, there's no bullshit. 10/10
Level Design: 9/10
Graphics: 8/10 some BG/FG clash but great overall.
Length: holy fuck this was long. After looking in lunar magic I noticed that slightly less than 10 pages were unused in lunar magic. That's a lot. 8/10
Replay Value: 9/10 I play this all the time.
Level Design: Perfect. 10/10 :)
Overall: 54/60

This hack jumped right into my all-time favorites, so I believe I owe it a thorough review.

Graphics: 10/10
There were a lot of graphics I recognized from other games, and a lot of graphics I didn't recognize. All of it looked natural to the game, and after a while I was almost expecting new graphics for each level. Great job with graphical variety and high-quality graphics.

Level Design: 9/10
The level design is absolutely astounding. I really enjoy looking at the levels as I go. Nothing seems weird or misplaced. The only thing that's keeping me from giving level design a 10/10 is that some places you have to use a fire flower on tiles that looks like solid tiles. It makes hunting for secret exit a pain in some stages, and it just randomizes the whole thing.

Music: 10/10
The tunes were really fitting the surroundings, and I noticed a lot of music from other games that was remixed. I loved all the remixes, and some places I just took myself some extra good time to listen to the music a little longer.

Overworld: 9/10
The overworld is basically perfect in my opinion. And with perfect, I mean no misplaced tiles, clever use of the switch palaces and things like rocks instead of level tiles. The only reason I take away a point, is because there was not much custom-ness in the overworld. There wasn't any reason to scroll around and enjoy the overworld.

ExGFX: 10/10
Next to the level design, this is the reason I had to play every single level. So many clever sprites and blocks, and it makes me want to just mess around in the levels for a while. In some levels you couldn't even tell what was dangerous and what wasn't, but that just adds up to the challenge for me.

Plot: 9/10
It reminds me of Banjo-Kazooie, kind of. You save your captured one before going after the villain. It makes it a lot like a "final showdown", which I think is really cool.

Difficulty: 10/10
I think a lot of the hacks here are way too easy, this one isn't. It's challenging in a good way, and it makes me want to beat it. I thought the difficulty was just perfect from start to finish, and you certainly know how to make clever tricks that aren't unfair to the player.

Overall: 10/10
Almost all hacks have a weak point, be it level design, originality or difficulty. I didn't find any weak points in this hack. Nothing took away the enjoyment. Everything fitted so well together that it was an enjoyment to play. This hack is an inspiration and it blows the prequel right out of the water, as well as almost all the other hacks here.

This hack was VERY entertaining and realy uniqe, so I give it a 9.9/10 score.

I saw some "Let's play" of this hack on Youtube. I didn't want to watch too many spoilers, so and checked it out myself.

The stages were really good, you/FPI are very creative. The story was brilliant, the new tiles, sprites, backgrounds, maps and tunes were awsome all trough the whole hack.

I got great hours of playtime and it was kind of sad when I completed all the normal and secret stages, I wanted much more=(

By the way, That hotel made me go nuts! searcing trough a house for a well, while listening to that bloody SMB3(bowser death) sound effect, Gah!

This hack is the best I've played so far, Thank you!
Now I'm going to start a new save on TSRPR;)

Great job but it got a little challenging early in the game, but oh well. Everything else was good, especially the SMB3 music and the bonus layout and all that other jazz.

So basically, even with the challenging part, this hack gets a 9.

This is the best hack I have ever played in my entire life ! The level design is outstanding, all the backgrounds and foregrounds fit together perfectly so nothing clashes, and the sprites are perfect. It's just overly fun....... this is'nt a hack...... this is a legend.

Outstanding job on this, FPI. You've made quite a name for yourself with this hack, considering , aside from TSRPR, this is one of your bests. Keep 'em coming, Im waitin' right here.

This has to be one of the best hacks I have every played. It tricks you though.. the first COUPLE of levels are easy and you are like, but then as the levels keep going the harder they get. And there is that bit of frustration there in some of these levels.. but you keep playing. I just got to "world 3" and it's great. I hated (but loved) one of the castles where you had to hit that switch to stop the spikes from coming down on you, but you raised the water and then you got to the point where you had to use the fireballs to destroy the blocks.. very geinse hack my friend.. please make more. I know you have 3, but we need a harder one. I love hard hacks.. keep up the great work everyone.
