Tip: Try making new backgrounds using SMW's existing graphics. For example, if you have a hilly BG, rearrange it to make it look more unique.

Story: Bowser has taken over Pokey's homeland and built up a new army. But to see if they're good enough to possibly defeat Mario, he lets Pokey "test" it. He kidnaps Pokey's brothers and holds them captive in his 7 towers that are scattered around the land. Now it's up to Pokey to rescue his brothers and to banish Bowser from his homeland!

This hack was a lot of fun. I couldn't find the hidden exit in the world that leads to the Switch Oasis the first time through, it took my several tries, and finding it has a much higher level of difficulty than anything else in the hack by a lot. Other than that, it was a great opening world, I loved the music and scenery. I particularly appreciated that although you didn't insert a ton of custom stuff, it all fit incredibly well together. Pokey's also a great character to play as, I can't help but think "Pokey, ANGRY" whenever he got a fire flower.

Things worth noting; I loved the level design of the Castle, it capped everything nicely, and had a good length. The trick with the spring and the key was clever too.

Aesthetically, I loved all the levels, but the oasis was a nice change of pace, and I really enjoyed it. However, it also had a couple problems; the only really big one is that I experienced some slowdown in the section with the urchins. It was very cleverly done, but it also caused some lag for me.

Other then that, I can't wait for the next part.

This is a german review.

Also erstmal ein dicken Lob vom mir.

Also alles zusammen: 9/10

Level Design: 9/10
Custom Music: 9/10
Overworld: 8/10
Grafik: 9/10

mach weiter mit der guten Arbeit. Kann kaum auf die nächste Version warten. ^^

Oh boy! This hack is fun! I've been meaning to review it for some time now....

Level Design
This is great! You have very cleverly hidden secret exits, a while array of where you can go in most levels and everything like difficulty is balanced. It is a little easy but nothing horendeous.
My rating: 67/70

Graphics and Overworld
The graphics are nice and plain. They all fit the theme and don't look bad. The overworld is excellent. While it could use some polishing here and there, there really isn't much to do. It expands in every direction!
My rating: 10/10

Music
The music always fits the theme and focuses less on the place you are in, something that a lot of hacks could use, (as long as they don't actually keep reusing the same tune over and over, like in Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Yoshi's Island DS) since a creepy piece of music for a cave doesn't suit a happy game.
My rating: 10/10

Misc.
There is some custom stuff but because of that, the lack of such really hurts this rating. It was all well used though, and it was low enough that it didn't create a nessecity for a lot of custom things. It still seemed somewhat lacking in this department.
My rating: 8/10

Overall
What a fun game this is! The secrets were so well hidden, even some of the best pros might not find them. The music worked perfectly, as did the graphics. It seemed lacking elsewhere but it isn't big and definiately shouldn't discourage you from playing.

My rating: 95/100 (rounded up to 10)

Vielleicht kannst du da noch was ändern!

So das war soweit alles ich freue mich schon auf die Voll Version xD

Note:9/10
Gute Arbeit!
Diese demo macht lust auf mehr!

Anmerkung: vielleicht sollest du die 2 Welt um einiges schwieriger machen weil die erste welt ist ziemlich einfach! (ausser Iggys Tower)

Oh well...

Level Design: The level design is rather good, though it can be a bit too linear in some parts. The castle level is really nice, though. (8/10)

Overworld Design: I haven't seen any glitches and errors in the overworld, but when you complete the first level (which is where you read Bowser's letter) some stuff appear next to the castle when the event to the second level is revealed. (9/10)

Graphics: Wye used SMW's Pokey GFX for the protagonist, and I find it rather nice. I also like the use of the different graphics for the cave levels and those white Yoshi eggs in the ground. :P (10/10)

Custom Blocks, Sprites, ASM: I found Wye's use of the Up Teleport Block as "teleport if you did something wrong" block interesting. Don't have any complaints here. (10/10)

Custom Music: Well, the title screen's music is really nice, when I played this game for the first time, the title screen's music became recorded at my mind! The other tracks are also nice, but I think the castle music is so cheery for a castle. Maybe is just me, though. :) (9/10)

FINAL NOTE: 9/10
Very nice hack, I would only suggest to make more unlinear levels for the next worlds. I guess you made these linear levels for the first world, didn't you? And I can't wait to see how long can a cacti survive in the water! :P

Quite an enjoyable hack. The difficulty in the first world was done well- It made for a nice, easy, introduction to the game without being oversimplified. The secret exits were both hidden incredibly well, great job. Likewise, you hid the P coins very well too and it was actually fun to find each of them. One complaint I do have, however, is that there's a P Coin in the castle, with a Thwomp right above it that you can't see. Yoshi Coins (Or P Coins in this case) should never be a trap. Aside from that, you did a great job.

I give this hack a 9/10.
