Hack Name: A New Year Walk
Creator: MATTAN
Level Design - 7/10
The level design was pretty good, but it's too short. It could have been better if you make the level longer.
Graphics - 7/10
The graphics were decent, but with Big Mario, and small Mario ducking or dead, he doesn't have the funny hat.
Music - 8/10
The music was good. Super Mario Galaxy music was a good choice for the hack.
Overworld - 9/10
The overworld contributed well into this hack of yours. The music and graphics blended well into the overworld.
Story/Text - 9/10
I know New Years Day passed by, but the story was amazing, and it's understandable.
FINAL SCORE: 40/50
SIMPLIFIED TO: 8/10 |

Quite an interesting hack. Here's my review...
Level: 9/10
I'd give you 10/10, but it was a bit short for my taste.
Graphics: 8/10
I did notice a few graphical glitches with the Toads/Koopas and the custom blocks.
Overworld: 10/10
The event after beating the "Moon Base" was cool.
Story: 10/10
Nice storyline, I liked how you used the Yoshi Coins as "batteries".
Music: 10/10
Not much to say about it, good choices.
TOTAL: 47/50
Good job on your hack! |

It was fun!
-Level design: 8/10
I'm bit bored to read those toads overandoverandover...
But anyway collecting dragoncoins was FUN!
- Overworld: 10/10
I'm wanted to play that chosthouse but anyway nice overworld.
-Music: 9/10
Little bit too much snares on the owerworld but music is very wellmade.
Here it comes...
-------------------------------------------
-Story: 14/10
One word... PERFECT!
overall: 10/10
A new year walk can't be worse.
Worth to play! |

Wow, I really loved this Hack.
I got to enjoy this hack more than any other because I learned to use ASDW Controls, so I'm not having troubles using the keyboard.
Graphics: 7/10
The graphics were.. um... not a Highlight of this game. I thought it was neat when mario grew his hat transformed, but the Blue and Yellow blocks making a spaceship didn't look nice. Howev3er, the detailed non-blocks were really nice. And of course, a few koopa and mario errors such as the fire hat and the turning glitch : /
Gameplay: 9.5/10
I liked the idea of having to collect the "Yoshi" coins. Normally I ignore those. It wasn't to difficult either.
Overworld: 10/10
It was perfect. It really looked like mario took a break from another hack mid-game.
Story: 9/10
It was a story that fit perfecley into mario with them being "Randomly Scattered". But the overworld added more to it, to show it was a break from a regular hack.
Overall: 9/10
Wonderful hack!

Design: 7/10
It was a bit tedious, I thought. But kinda clever.
Graphics:6/10
Pretty okay, but:
1: When big mario held things, he looks handless.
2: The koopas have issues (but you know that.)
3: When crouching as big/fire Mario, you have the regular hat.
Music: 6/10
The music pretty much worked. It conveyed no feeling, but it was okay.
Story: 7/10
A "Mario" plotline. Short, quick, provides a goal. Had some characterization.
Polish: .5/1
Some minor errors.
27/41
65%
Most hacks get 40-60, so you were just above average. |

So, is this going to be a recurring theme of yours? Can we expect a Valentine's Day walk, or a St. Patrick's Day walk? What about an Easter walk, or a Memorial Day walk? xD
Anyway...
One thing I noted is that this is a bit more puzzle-oriented than your previous "walks". Puzzle hacks on this site are pretty hit-or-miss. Thankfully, this one was a hit.
The Super Mario Galaxy music fit well. But the Koopas glitched up on occasion, getting stuck in their "turning" frame. Also, why is it that small Mario wears a proper New Year's hat, but the other Mario variants wear recolored versions of their normal hats? D:
Overall, I give it a 9/10. ^^ |

Very nice job with this! I think this one is one of your best "walks" so far!
Level Design: 9/10
The level design was pretty good. I liked the idea of having to go back and forth to search for things and carrying P-Switches through different rooms. Good job!
Graphics: 7/10
I like the graphical changes for Mario (with the new hat) but it looks weird on Big Mario.
Overworld: 10/10
Looks really nice. I like the neat little effect at the end when you beat the level.
Story: 10/10
Great storyline! Finally something that doesn't involve the princess being kidnapped
Music: 10/10
Super Mario Galaxy music was the perfect choice for this hack. Excellent job!
Overall: 9/10
Overall, I'd say that it was a great hack. The graphics could've been a bit better, but other than that, I enjoyed it! |

Great job with this! I was expecting something a little longer, but it's still good.
Graphics: 9/10
The custom Mario sprite is good, but when you duck, he still has his regular hat. 1 point off for that.
Music: 10/10
Super Mario Galaxy music was a GREAT choice for this hack. 10/10!
Level: 8/10
Great level with some great custom blocks, but it's too short.
Overall: 9/10
It's a great level. While I find it weird that you didn't lock it, this gives me the opportunity to get a rom-hack that has Wall-jump blocks(hope you don't mind, I won't be using your sprites) |

Good job! A quick, 1 level "walk" as the title suggests, but perhaps too short. Here's my rating:
Level: 8/10
A fun level, but as I mentioned earlier, it was too short (I was hoping it would be in between your X-mas and Halloween hack lengths). Still very fun!
Graphics: 7/10
Decent graphics, but a glitch caused Koopas to "slide" in the turning frame occasionaly, affecting gameplay.
OverWorld: 10/10
I was going to skip this, but the change afterwards can't be ignored. Great job!
Story: 10/10
The perfect setting for the story!
Music: 9/10
I think it was a tad calm, but still very good!
Overall: 44/50 (8.8/10 rounded to 9/10)
A hack worthy of much credit! Great job once again! |
