| Review by Yanama | While this hack had a very unique idea, and was able to explore and execute that idea well, there are some major problems. Don't get me wrong: the graphics are great, and the ASM changes are amazing. However, this hack has the same problem as Brutal Mario does: It relies on the graphics and ASM to carry the entire hack. Yes, the gameplay is new and interesting, but the levels feel like strolls through various environments, where you kill one enemy, beat the level, and then leave. The graphics and music end up saving the hack in the end. While these amenities do enhance a player's experience, they can not totally make up for the absence of quality level design usually found in hacks.

| Review by RPG Hacker | I just played the hack. I have to say it is a very good hack and a very unique idea. It defenitly was fun playing it. Especially the graphis where super nice. Of course I didn't understand anything of the story. The Custom Music was pretty good most the time. Especially the Wario Land music was very fitting. The speed of the obsticles that you shoot when you're in a shuttle should be raised a bit. They're really slow. And that can get very annoying. Also you should somehow disable the jumping sound on the cutscenes. Custom Sprites can be helpful. The level design was pretty good most the time. However, in some levels it was also pretty bad: One of them wa "Surface au meteore", where you hardly could tell, where you can walk and where not. The holes where often very hard to see. And overall it just looks really bad to have a slope next to a hole. I don't know why. The other level is Hyperspace 2. The reason why that is so bad is because you have no idea where to go if you haven't played the level before. So if you're not using Savestates or Rewinds, you're going to die many times. So my recommandation would be to either make pointers (like coin arrows) or something like that to show the right way, disable the auto scroll or just make the pathes more obvious.
Well I think that's all I wanted to say... No, I think there was something else. But I can't remember what it is. Your game is really nice, but it still need some improvements. And I also hope you'll make an English translation when it's finished. I'd give you a 7 out of 10 points. | Posted by: RPG Hacker - 2009-01-15 07:58:02 AM |
