| Review by Lebon14 | Good hack in general.
At the Yellow Switch Palace (BONUS Golden Maze), by the end, depending of what pipe you take, you have a reward : 1-up, cape or flower. However, since you don't protect the level over and below, I can get all 3. With a cape, I managed many things you know...
Caution, Lakitu Zone has a very big flaw : Yoshi. It's not the fact that you gave a Yoshi, it's the fact where you placed it : At the end of the level right beside the exit!! I also managed many things with him...
The Giant Cave was pretty good (and the first levels too). There was just a slowdown at the end.
For the castle, I kinda lol'ed... When I fought Mouser, I took exactly NO BOB-BOMBS to kill him. It just kills itself with his own ammo. Also, the room with the carnivorous fishes with the magician is kinda hard y' know? But thank god you give tons of Fire Flower so I can kill them on the first starting platform. King Lakitu was pretty good. Good idea.
Next world.
Southern path was full of lulz. 15 seconds the level was bye bye. But I had to let go of Yoshi (Yes, I still had it). I just flew off the beginning to get the P and go where I needed to go.
Northern path = FLY OVER THE LEVEL.
So :
Gameplay : 10
SMW = WIN
Story : N/A
Since I didn't played the first one, can't say much about this one
Music : N/A
I read the other comment and the music was from SMB3 and other games? Bah. I prefer my own music (Yes, I was listening to my own music while playing instead of listening to the game's)
Overworld : 6
I don't like SMB3 that much ya know...
Difficulty : 8½
You almost traced the exact line between fun and challenging
Level design : 8
Mainly because of the flaws that the player can exploit with Savestates (Cape + Yoshi + SaveStates = UBER Advantage), I have to reduce some points here... If you remove the cape from the game, it would be even better in the design though. I suggest that you obblige the player to let go of his/her powerup after each level. Like that, you'll be sure that he attends what you want the player to attend.
Final score : 8 | | Posted by: Lebon14 - 2009-02-19 09:46:24 PM |

| Review by Binrazan | A very well made hack, I must say that this is one worth playing.
Dimentio's Score:
Overworld and Submaps
Pretty good, the use of the SMB3 overworld is pretty nice, along with the music. I found no glitches upon testing, which is superb. Nicely built submaps are also a plus.
Rating: 18/20
Level Design
The level design in this hack is better than most I have played in awhile. The levels are well built, along with some puzzles that make the experience even better for the player. The only complaint I have is the bonus area at the end of the first level isn't hidden at all... in fact, there's an arrow pointing at it... The large amount of coins inside are the main problem, you can get about 3-4 lives down there. I would suggest making a vine to go up to the pipe so that it's not out in the open... but hey, it's not my hack.
Rating: 16/20
Custom Factors
The music was great, I really like the mix of Megaman and Mario music. The custom sprites are also put in at just the right areas as well, leading to some very nice challenges.
Rating: 20/20
Storyline
The Mario and Megaman storyline is still well balanced, but some cutscenes or a little more backstory would be nice (even though it is a demo...).
Rating: 15/20
Graphics and ExGraphics
The graphics styles don't clash, which is a very uncommon thing to see in new hacks nowadays. The Megaman head for a message box is alright, but I don't like the palette, seems kinda off... You could use the NPC Sprites for a Megaman in the levels.
Rating: 17/20
Total Score: 86/100
Averages out to a 9/10.
I congratulate you on a hack well done, Keyblade Master. | Posted by: Binrazan - 2009-02-19 09:16:35 PM |

| Review by Marcus Terry - Bedford | Yes! Recommended to all
The best hack I have ever played so far in my life.
The Pro's
I like this hack for certain because the colour pallete is the closest you can get it. I think this hack is mostly special because of the music. The music is from SMB3, Yoshi Island and many other games. The music has a remix of the castle destruction theme. If you made or remixed this music, you are a super music remix star. I realy need you to help me here on how to make a hack with music like completed level, Castle destruction, How to make music not loop etc. You may have used addmusic but if you didn't I really wan't to know what program was used. I like all of the sprites in this hack. This is so fantstic.
The Cons's
On the fist level a set of screen scrolling pipes glitch if you try to enter them back and I have no choice but to die! This is not fantastic but everything else is fine
I can't wait for the full version! | | Posted by: Marcus Terry - Bedford - 2009-02-19 03:08:48 PM |
