| Tip: If you're using the original SMW ending, remember that level 104 (Yoshi's House) will appear during it. |

| Description: | Brutal Mario has been a very popular hack. However, most people have had one problem with it; they can't read Japanese. So many people have been wondering what the text boxes say and what the levels are called. Well, your days of wondering are over! This version of Brutal Mario is tranlated from Japanese to English. The original download no longer exists, so I'm glad I downloaded this when I did. This is the exact same Brutal Mario we all know and love, just in English instead of Japanese. I've heard that there are a few glitches such as blocks turning into death sprites and death sprites appearing out of nowhere. The file was originally in RAR format, so that might explain some of the problems. If you have any more questions, contact me in the link given in the ReadMe. I don't check my PMs very often. Ignore what it says about me translating it, though. Someone else uploaded this for me, and they misunderstood that I did not translate this. |

| | Posted by: mortinho13 - 2012-05-06 08:48:57 AM |

| Review by Grate | I know I'm doing wrong reviewing this but, let's do it (using positive and negative points):
Positive points:
Gradients
Gimmicks
Sprites
Replay Value (maybe)
Negative points (oh my god...):
I don't think the bosses are a positive point. Most of them are too hard and its style just doesn't fit. This hack is a "jigsaw puzzle" with lots of things from other hacks. Creativity: Rare.
Graphics: Some are too realistic, other too cartoonized. What GFX style is your hack?
Level design: I like longs levels. Really. But 2 things that I can't accept: Some levels being long without ANY reason, and other levels being VERY VERY short WITHOUT ANY REASON AGAIN. Some cutoffes. Oh and other thing: The sunset in the first world is awful. I liked the gimmick but the colors are AWFUL. I thought I was in a night club.
Oh: Don't let the BG palette get the status bar palette.
Music: ..............
Graphics: (AGAIN???) Well, in the Sky world, I can see the sky is not that high. The night forest Lion King BG just doesn't fit with the sky world levels.
Final Grade: 6.5/10
Sorry for the bad review, but your hack can be SO MUCH better.
(Oh, I don't hate your hack, I just want to see it Awesome, and maybe, the best Smw hack)

| Review by CrispyYoshi | Well, I don't know if this is right or not, but I think that when you translated this, a bit more glitches occurred. I don't know if it was in the original game or not, but I had some strange glitches happening. Let's see.. I jumped under a ? block, and it killed me for some reason. The same happened to me again, but with a 'On/Off' block.
But anyway, I can't really review the game, but only the dialogue. I opened up the dialogue in Lunar Magic and... OH MY GOD THIS IS HILARIOUS.
This was one of the best dialogue translations I have seen. And I don't know about you guys, but I think that the dialogue of this game is far funnier than Earthbound. That's just me, though. I give you a -Very Nice Job- on translating this hack. The dialogue was so amazing, and I would recommend this translation to anyone, new and old, to Brutal/Kitiku Mario.
10/10 on the translation. Amazing job. | | Posted by: CrispyYoshi - 2009-05-02 11:20:24 AM |
