Review by HKboy
At first sight, you did a great thing. I see you've made a 3-hit system, which is nice, and surprising. The only thing what is kinda disappointing is that you lose your power-ups at the beginning of each level, so you start as small mario.

In the first level, it was a plain simple walking forward level, not too hard as it's the first level.

The second level had 2 exits. The secret was easy to find if you pay attention to the whole level, but that's okay. There was some lagg in the second area with the P switches and an area after that, which may be fixed.

The fourth level (Split-Path Cave) had a hard-to-get secret, but I found out and revealed the Green-Time Palace. The road to the palace wasn't challenging, but that isn't something necessary, so okay.

The rest of the levels are okay, but then we encounter the castle!
There are 2 ways of going through the castle, either going into the traps or the maze, I did both. The maze wasn't that big, but as it's in the end of the whole game which is coming up, it's perfect.
I was complaining in myself a little bit about how easy this game was, even for the first few levels, but the traps in the castle was just was I need. It was challenging and good enough for a castle.

After you did 1 of those things, I entered the boss fight. The boss fight was a little too hard if you ask me. The bombs who are walking against each other okay, but the Twhomp who was falling in on you was too fast at the end. If you stay on the ground when the Thwomp is falling down, you will be stunned, and it might kill you. Also it's hard to time when your bomb will explode, so maybe make the fight a little easier? Also, you get another hitpoint after picking up a crystal, so I have 4 hitpoints now!

Conclusion:
The overworld is nice, and the idea of using a time void area to switch worlds with the crystals is a great idea. You might want to make the shortcut to the castle a little more well hidden or put the pipe somewhere else, as the shortcut is too close to the castle.
The music is Very relaxing, it just say to me: Play the game.
I say it's a succesful first world.

Tips for the future: Make the levels a little harder, make the boss battles not too hard like Thwomp, and some custom enemies are fine too, as bosses for example.

I give it an 8/10
