| Review by Domiok | This was an "interesting" hack to say the least. It certainly caught my eye with a particular screenshot, but it wasn't a masterpiece in any sense of the word. Several levels kept me attentive well enough, despite the mediocre appearance. Otherwise, I did not think this hack was worth my time.
A main point of criteria for this hack would be the graphics. Mostly what was changed would be the palettes of various sprites, including Mario. All of these replacements seemed to make the sprites have a less detailed appearance, and it was not appealing in the slightest. The "looking up" pose for Mario and the ? block replacements did give me a chuckle, though... only to be followed by shame at having done so because of hideous graphic replacements.
The levels in your hack were decent, primarily with the fun factor. They made me stay on my toes I suppose. Every exit was simple to find, however, and it did not take long to get through your levels. I also noticed that you generously supplied your levels with munchers, which I found to be completely unnecessary.
For the rating of this hack, I would give this a 4/10. I feel as though you could put a little bit more effort into this in the future. It wasn't a horrible hack, yet it does leave much room for improvement. | Posted by: Domiok - 2010-07-03 11:18:22 PM |
