Leveldesign:
So it started off pretty difficult for a first level, not that I mind difficulty at all. But 1 life, really? After that the levels varied between being way too short and easy, to being actual good length. I feel that the difficulty curve is waay off here.. Usually I'm fine with varied difficulty, but eh, you might wanna rearrange some levels.. Also Speed Platforms(name?), what were you thinking there? haha

The levels themselves also varied between being pretty neat, to being pretty average. Usually I was thinking: "Oh hey, so that's the gimmi.. It's already over?" Other times, it felt like stuff were there for the sake of being there..

I also felt some coin-trails were misleading, sometimes it looks like I'm supposed to jump down, but no, there's a pit there.. And sometimes coins leads to an enemy ambush. (As for world 1-2, maybe not a great idea.. If ever.)

Story:
I don't care much for story, and I usually skip it.. But for this hack, it was short enough for me to care about it. The ordinary defeat Bowser-thing, nothing more is necessary in my opinion.

Graphics:
Mostly vanilla I guess. I have nothing to say here really, it's all nice. Well, slightly weird-looking goomba, but oh well.

Music:
Also pretty nice, I really liked some of the songs. And they fit the theme well, so good choices.

ASM:
Nothing really fancy as of yet. The double-jump thing is really annoying though, and it got me hit more than it helped me. Telling the player about it in world 3 is maybe not such a good idea either..

Also, the boss edits are kind of unnecessary. It's not harder, it just takes longer time to beat them.

Overworld:
The overworld is very nice, the only thing is that the water looks pretty empty on the main map. Other than that, I really really like it.

Overall:
I'm not gonna give a rating here because all it does is rendering the review kind of useless..

What I think you need to work on is leveldesign and balancing the difficulty. Honestly, rearrange some levels based on difficulty, and edit some of them (at least the shorter ones). And definitely increase the starting lives.

---

This was my first review, and sadly I kind of focused on things I didn't like.. But those things are always easier to point out, right?
