---------------------------
You did a great job on this fantastic hack, Dakress. I also voted it to be featured. Now on to the review...
Level Design: 9.7/10
Amazing. Simply smooth and fresh. Not to complicated at all, and the most important: it was a lot of fun. It felt like Nintendo made this. I also loved how every level had a different concept and gameplay; it made the hack lovely. Not every level was a grassland for once. Alot of variation in this.
Graphics: 9/10
It is hard to rate the graphics, because you just used the redrawn ones. I mostly don't like those, but you really made me feel different about this. The graphics did fit your level design a lot and made it even look more professional. You made great use of it.
Music: 7.5/10
Could be a bit better. The songs you selected were good, but not original. I heard a lot of overused songs here and there. It would be nice if you could pick some songs that are a little bit "stronger". The songs did fit the levels most of the time though. (Also, what was that castle music? Totally <3)
Overworld: 8/10
Nothing to special, but it was very nice. Good use of different angles too.
Difficulty: 9/10
Yeah, the difficulty curve was very good. Smooth as heck. One thing kinda bugged me... Some secret exits where very hard to find (Underwater Sea... I still didn't find it) and some very easy. Little thing though.
Story: 6.5/10
You didn't create a new story. It was just the same again. The Bowser kidnaps Peach shit doesn't amuse me anymore.
Replay Value: 9.5/10
I'd really play this again, thanks to the fun level design and concepts. As I said, it felt like a Nintendo game. I always play any Nintendo game twice or more.
------------------------
Overall: 8.4
But I love this hack so much I give this a 9.

Other notes:
I really think this is a great example for all the hacks. Especially the ones that use SMW redrawn too. Great job Dakress. | Posted by: GvS - 2011-02-07 08:06:50 AM |
