Description: It has taken quite a lot of casual time to finish this, involving a whole lot of slackitu of course.
Times to times I lost interest and motivation, but under two years time, it got finihsed.
I havent talked much about this project until recently, though I have asked WAY too many times for help
to solve flaws to make this hack as good as possible.

And now, thanks to all of you kind users: I can finally share this project with you.
This is my thanks to you guys!
I proudly present you: Tales of Nean!

This hack is perhaps a "little" diffrent from some other average hacks.
This is like half vanilla, half chocolate or something. It uses two custom blocks, YY-CHR edited bosses and ExGFX.
You could call it a vanilla hack with chocolate sprinkles, or a stracciatella hack....whatever.

Instead of going out to rescue the princess this time, Mario sets out to explore a new world. A world known as the lost continents of Neanoz.
What Mario will find there, he does not know. What treasure is to be found in this forgotten world which once belonged to an ancient race?
During the game's progress there will be dialoges and cutscenes to tell the story of Neanoz and his island and the occurring events.

With a total of "21" levels (Including the *cough* "Bowser" Battle). this hack has quite a decent length.
I edited & even removed a lot of old levels, making the hack shorter however, but much more decent and enjoyable.
That was because some of them were very weird and inappropriate. During the first of these three years, I made nothing but cutoffness kaizo garbage.
That has changed now. I removed tons of levels and discarded the 5th world I made due to being unmercyfull (stay tuned for a kazio hack from me!)

But this is a fair, happy and hopefully very enjoyable little hack!
I had planned on uploading some demo versions, but I felt like waiting until everything was finished and make one big hit instead of many mediocre.

Enough talk! Enjoy! Please rate and review! All feedback is appreciated (as I will keep making levels for future collab hacks and contests!)

THIS, was an incredibly well put together hack. The level design, the custom sprites, the music, it all came together well to create a classic Mario platforming game, the likes of which even Nintendo would be jealous of.

Small criticisms include at times it was hard to tell which graphics were solid, which you could pass through, and which you couldn't. Though this wasn't a huge turn off because it was easy to quickly find out exactly which graphics did what. Also, the bosses were just the same exact bosses from the original Super Mario World, just with new sprites. Not necessarily a bad thing, as it still has that classic Mario feel, just don't expect any new and exciting bosses.

Overall I'd give the hack a 9.5/10, and say it is definitely worth a playthrough, and definitely much more deserving than its modest 700~ downloads.

I also did a Let's Play of this hack! Look me up on YouTube!

I really enjoyed playing this hack...the levels were well designed, and I enjoyed the extra little secrets that could be explored in some of the single exit levels. The story progressed well, and the music fit in perfectly. Creativity was definitely present throughout the game, even through the credits. My only concern with the game was the difficulty level progression. The second castle was much more difficult than the levels proceeding it and might have been more suitable as an end level. Although changing up the difficulty of the levels like that kept it interesting for me :)

I'd give the hack a 9/10 and recommend it to anyone!

Well, I've spent the past week or so playing this hack, and I have to say I was very satisfied with it. The graphics and music all seemed to be chosen very well, and they didn't clash. The levels were all very good, although some felt a bit short at times. They were all very fun to play, and they didn't feel too gimmicky when they did have a gimmick. I thought the difficulty was spot on, as well; there were no crazy jumps in difficulty in either direction during the hack, and the last levels were very fun. I also liked the story; even though the hack was short, it managed to make me want to find out more about the story after defeating each boss. Speaking of bosses, I thought the boss battles were all well done, and I found the last boss in particular to be quite creative. I also have to mention that I love what you did with the enemy names in the credits.

Overall, I was very satisfied with this hack; despite its short length, it manages to provide a very fun experience. I'm giving it a 10/10, and I would recommend this hack to anyone. If you're seeking for a hack that's short but sweet, look no further!
