| Review by frostyfish88 | This hack was really good and enjoyable.
I'd like to start off by saying the writing in this game was pure gold. It was grammatically pretty bad but it gave it a lot of character. I approve.
The bosses were pretty difficult. I feel like maybe some of them (for example, the frog guy) could be switched with another one earlier in the game. I liked that frog boss a lot. Yeah, most of the bosses were pretty dang hard, but I wouldn't say they were tedious. I did most of them toolless in about an hour or so.
The level design was pretty good. There wasn't anything that really blew my mind but most of it worked and was just good in general. There were a few places where there was a hole you could jump in (not talking about a death pit) but you couldn't get out of because the walls surrounding it were too high.
The graphics were great. They all worked and fit in well. Nice n' clean and everything.
The music choices were just fantastic. I never came to a song in the hack that I didn't really care for. There were a few tracks, such as Mystery Deeps and that one track from Super Mario Land 3, Stage 4 I think, that I was really glad to come across. Great job here.
The hack was overall pretty simple, save for the bosses and the final level. Which by the way, the final level was pretty difficult, but it was designed well and seemed to have about perfect difficulty. I also really liked the bosses in it. The secrets were easy to find.
In short:
Story: 10/10 - Usual story, nothing wrong with it. The writing style was unique and funny the way it was written.
Graphics: 10/10 - Everything fit in and was nice and clean.
Music: 10/10 - The music choices were outstanding.
Difficulty: 9/10 - The only thing holding this back was the bosses. And a random spike or two here or there. Other than that the difficulty was fine.
Level Design: 10/10 - Unique and fun. Nothing made me go "WHOA", but it was still very good nonetheless.
Great job PaperMario94! Oh, I made a let's play of this game on YouTube (youtube.com/Frozelar), though I feel like it's not my best series. Sorry 'bout that, but well, there we go. | Posted by: frostyfish88 - 2013-02-05 05:50:25 PM |

| Review by CanadianHitmanX | This was a very good hack. The main levels (non castle/fortress) where a bit on the short side lasting between one and three minutes depending on how well I was doing. The difficulty ranged between easy and medium. The secrets where very easy to find, which is what I like. The only thing I disliked about this hack was the overuse of scrolling levels. I really don't like scrolling levels, I mean the odd one is okay, but they came up way too, more so in the last world. I really didn't notice any glitches; except for maybe the normal fall through wall ones, but those where far between.
All and all this was a pretty good hack.

| Review by snazzy95 | hi! i'm going to review your hack. overall i liked it very much.
here are some criterions:
Gameplay: it was so fun and awesome, although almost all the secrets were really easy to find. the only thing i didnt like about your hack is bosses. they were really hard and painful, well at least for me/
(pretty similar)Level design: totally perfect. seriously, every stage was creative and unique and a lot of times i found myself looking at the background and not luigi. it fully felt like you put so much effort in every level. and short ones wasnt such a problem for me/
Music: kirby and sonic music was uh-mazing! every track was suitable for its atmosphere/
Story: for a mario platformer its pure gold/
i think this is all. i don't want to offend you by my score (its totally deserved 9 out of 10), but the bosses were just annoying. i think the main thing is that i really enjoyed playing your hack and it was very cool.
p.s. can you please pm me what music did you put into the level called 'chucks mountain'? | | Posted by: snazzy95 - 2012-04-06 10:09:37 AM |
