Description: This is a rather generic hack that doesn't contain a story. It consists of unreleased levels from canceled projects (an unnamed project from 2008 and some levels from Super Mario's Legend - Vacations at the Tropics) and my Choco 2010, Vanilla 2011 and Vanilla 2012 contest entries, remade with new graphics and a few other features.

No custom music as promised in the trailer, I'm sorry. But the hack is done anyways - so I hope you have some fun playing here.

You can read the Readme for changelog/known bugs reference.

Review by Oh Hell No
Luckily I read through the Readme just before writing this hack, otherwise I would write a different review than I'm writing now. Thanks :D

Blind Devil's Trip Back in Time was overall ... a great hack, yea, I have to say that. The levels were original and well designed, full of secrets, hidden places with 1up's or alternate paths. The Graphics are, as seen in the screenshots, very nice, giving a new feeling to every level, while maintaining that feeling I had playing the original Super Mario World.
As the description said, the hack doesn't have a story and in my opinion it doesn't need one at all. It was just going through the levels, sitting back in my chair and having a good time. Not that this hack was very easy, the levels start out simple, but the difficulty curve was perfect. Each level the difficulty raised a bit, then stayed there for a while, sometimes decreasing a tad. In the end the levels were hard, not too hard, a bit harder than final levels in the Bros. series. Like the last world of Donkey Kong Country Returns, but with no checkpoints. No checkpoints, the first real problem of the hack, although it is said in the readme. I think the best solution to this is to don't use them in the first world(s), but in the last world(s) you could make one at the start of every room.

Some things which had a good intension, but did not work as well as you wanted it to be.
- The red coins: in every level you can collect eight red coins, when collected, at the end of the level is a pipe which leads you to a bonus room. Clever and fun idea, but the urge to collect them was just not enough. In combination with the 5 Yoshi Coins you had 13 collectables in every level, which was in my opinion too many. Every game in the Bros. Series had 3, 5 or at most 8 things to collect (star-/yoshi-/red coins) as far as I have seen. Again, the idea is good, but if you removed the Yoshi Coins, I'm sure I'd have wanted to collect more red coins.
**SPOILER ALERT**
- The Water and Fire caves: When I first saw this, I was suprised, 2 worlds I can play! But when I realized the levels were just the same, but with other palettes, I chose the water route and went on. **REALLY BIG SPOILER ALERT** But when in the end you were forced to play both world in order to continue, I stopped playing. Why on earth should I have to play every level in that world again to continue?!? Luckily there was not a level afterwards :).
** END OF SPOILER ALERT(S)**
- The length of the levels: The first three worlds had levels with 2 à 3 minutes gameplay. The last two worlds were a pain to complete, in the end every level had at least 4 sublevels with F screens in it. As I have said before, the levels were nicely designed, but when the level just goes on and on and on and on, the fun playing it goes down.

Now what would I rate this hack in the end?
A 8/10 is an appropiate rating I think, the levels and overworlds (oops, forgot about that) were great designed and nice to look at. I think everyone will enjoy this hack as much as I did. Great job!

E1: Oh wow, you can edit reviews now, great! Fixed a typo
