Sonic: The Lost World (A Wii U and 3DS Exclusive)

This week, Nintendo confirmed an exclusive partnership will bring a new Sonic title as an exclusive Nintendo console feature. There's not much information on it yet but I'm quite looking forward to seeing what Sega do with this Action-Adventure game. If they follow what they did with Generations and Colours, it's going to be amazing.

Laurent Fischer, Managing Director of European Marketing and PR at Nintendo of Europe said: "We're delighted to be forming this new partnership with SEGA, and bringing new games in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise to Nintendo systems. We hope fans are as excited as we are when more details will be shown closer to E3."

So far, this is all we have seen of it:

Assuming this is an overworld, I'm reminded of Sonic Unleashed.

Mod edit: Removed some table stretch.
Watch the hexagonal pieces mean it's going to be a strategy game olo.

That being said I am interested in what comes out, since I've been hearing a lot of good things about Sonic Generations.
Back to tiled over worlds? At least they're not squares! :P
Your layout has been removed.
I'm really hoping that this new sonic game will be better than the last few recent ones. The modern Sonic seems like kind of a dying franchise to me - he hasn't had a single good game since the classics. This does look pretty cool, though. That overworld looks kind of like the Yes Fragile sleeve. I'll probably buy this game, in fact. We'll just have to wait and see how well it plays...
tired: 'JOYCON BOYZ'
wired: 'The Fellowship of the Switch'
if you ignore generations and colors for some awkward reason; yea, most modern sonic games haven't been that great.

Though i personally enjoyed everything to and before Shadow the Hedgehog
Really, only Shadow and '06 are bad, and with the former it's mainly plot holes and Space Gadget (What do you mean I can only get that key in Expert Mode, when the only way to get the A rank needed to unlock it is to use the warp hole that needs five keys! No, seriously, I dare someone to show me video evidence of A ranking Space Gadget's Hero Mission without warp holes or glitches. Oh, and those slopes that turn you around when you land on them. Idiot programming at its finest)

I don't entirely remember what I did for that level, all I know is that I have all A's and all keys. I think I got the A's before the keys, though.

Don't forget Sonic and the Secret Rings and Unleashed. The first is just a hot mess all over, the second was an interesting idea that was botched - it's the first game I purposefully stopped playing halfway through and sold because I hated it so much.

Back on topic, as long as they just make a new Sonic game and don't include any stupid gimmicks, it should be fine. I'm not really super interested in it anyway.
Well, okay, Secret Rings... I admit, Thrust! Bone Knight isn't exactly playable, I've had better luck with upward diagonal spin attacks in Skyward Sword. And why do people hate the Werehog? Is it really that bad if a character other than Sonic is playable?

Am I the only person who legitimately thought the werehog gameplay in Unleashed was good?

It's not the werehog that was bad, it was the werehog stages. I was halfway through the game, and I was spending around 35 minutes on each werehog level, 5-10 min on daytime levels. The werehog stages were never incredibly clever, and they were downright monotonous after the 5th time you play them when you get ganked by a bunch of randomly spawned enemies. At my point in the game, I had to go 10 minutes from the last checkpoint to one area where I could literally go another 10 min battling monsters in a tight space. Sonic could simply not last that long. The attacks and handling itself are pretty vague in my mind (this was a couple years ago mind you) but they were pretty decent, if a little stale. However, the levels were simply awful, which was a downer compared to the daytime stages.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

The issue with the werehog stages largely has to do with the pacing of them (very, very slow), which in turn effects the pacing of the entire game. The medal collecting/padding certainly didn't help matters.

Yeah, maybe if you ignore Generations, Colors, Unleashed (to an extent). And the Adventure games (though time wasn't too kind to them).

I imagine the game to be similar to Colors, of course with clear cut differences. I really thought Sonic Colors was one of the best 3D Sonics in a long time, and that was also a Nintendo exclusive. As for other 3D titles, I've only played Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic and The Secret Rings; I thought both were decent, each with their own flaws. Really looking forward to how this one turns up.
I no longer have interest in SMW Hacking as I did when I first started several years ago.

There's a number of cues being taken from Sonic X-Treme, which predates Galaxy.

The enemies remind me so much of Space Jam and that is very, very good.
Why does every trailer need dubstep.

That being said, this looks really interesting and fun and not shit.

Also why would anyone 100% '06 Oh god why
Ok, i must say that looks pretty cool.
It looks like another generic Sonic racing game, but with airplanes.

I think I would rather play another good Sonic game, like Sonic '06.
