What's the hardest level in mario games?

Tell me the hardest level in mario games.

For me, looks like that Champion's Road and GrandMaster Galaxy tied.
And you?
Tubular.

It might not be the hardest level in any mario game, but definitely of the ones I've played.
Grandmaster Galaxy (specifically T̥̼͓̤̠̙ͪ̂̍͝h̶̻̺͉̹̱ͫ̆̔e̞͙͚͂̾̄̓̓ͦͤͥͪ ͕͚͓̣͙̭̤̌͊ͅP̜͔̰̝͖̔́͡ě̗̫̻̭̖̱̳̆ͥ͢r͖̘̳͍ͨ̈ͩͅfͦ̆͏̵̝̫̳͎̩̳̣e̾̈́͜͏̺͍̮͖̘̝ͅc̷̪͚̞ͣ̿̀ṭ̵̟̟̘̠̲̲̬͑̿ͫ͂͊͌̌̕ ̒ͯͣͮ̋̍ͣ͠҉̺̣̮͕͖͎̻̻ͅR̡̦͓͓̤̬̖͆͌́͌̐̎u̵̡̢̱̔n̮͓̾́͘͜͞) is pure torture. "Oh this looks like a fun final star!" *450 lives lost later* "KILL ME AAIRAFAWNJROGJRWIAJGWRIPJAWPRW"

If that doesn't count then the entirety of World 8 in SMB3

Signed. And add to that list the complete final world of Super Mario 3D World. Especially that one level where you had to get 30 stars. That was just ridiculously evil and hard. And I'm not even talking about the fun kind of "hard". More of the "I absolutely hate this level, but I'm so close to 100% that I really want to finish it" kind of hard.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Yeah, the Perfect Run. I never once made it even to the final area in that level. #lm{MARIO69}

I haven't even finished 3D World, so I guess that'll be a thing to check out. Yay...

I'm probably retired tbh
I am proud to say I beat the perfect run, and I only died inside.

I don't get why people say Tubular is the hardest, I can beat it in 20 mins, tops.
Probably either the lilypad ride or the Pachinko machine in Super Mario Sunshine comes to mind. The lilypad is hard to control, and it's on a flowing current of death water, and you have to collect 8 red coins. It's also really hard to get to because you need to take a long, boring, tedious trip by boat on Yoshi since he dissolves in water, and you need him to puke on the fire blocking the pipe, and you have to do it all over again each time you fail, and you will fail a lot.
The Pachinko game is pretty much luck-based and you also need to collect 8 coins and then the Shine in a pinball game from hell. It's at least as difficult as hitting the high score target in some arcade games.
Both of those make Tubular, Wario's Castle, and Endless World of Yoshis look easy.

8-3 of the original Super Mario Brothers.

Also, seriously guys, Tubular? What about Outrageous?
Grandmaster Galaxy and The Perfect Run in Super Mario Galaxy 2 were very challenging. I remember spending quite some time on them. Died at least 40 times.
8-1 in the original SMB. It's the longest level in the game, and I've never once beaten it without dying. In addition to the short time limit relative to the level's length, there's one part where you have to have a running start, jump onto a one-tile platform, and then immediately jump again. The physics in that game are so screwed up, so it's difficult for me to make that jump.
I don't see why everyone found the Perfect Run so hard, it actually didn't give me much trouble, but it definitely was challenging. I found half the levels in The Lost Levels to be much harder, and I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me on that game having some of the hardest levels in the series.

Lost Levels is pretty tough, The Perfect Run is torture, and both rely on cheap design and nasty gimmicks. See the pattern?

Also mark down some of the extra levels in Yoshi's Island, since I recently played the first one and Poochy seriously sounds like a broken vacuum cleaner.
I tend to have a lot of trouble with World 6-5 (more confusing hard than anything) in SMB3.

Also World 8 Tower 2 in NSMB. Block Train AND a Vertical Level? No thanks.

Which one's Outrageous? I don't recall having problems with any of the levels in SMW except Tubular and FREAKING VALLEY FORTRESS JDKFHGDJKGHEAB

For me, that would be 8-3 in SMB1, for sure. HATE YOU WORLD 8. HATE. YOU.

FREAKING VALLEY FORTRESS JDKFHGDJKGHEAB is a close second. HATE YOU TOO.

The "level" that I had the most trouble with, in any Mario game, is Flipsville Galaxy's Green Star 3 in Galaxy 2. I probably spent over 30 lives trying to land on the damn star.

I don't remember having any trouble with The Perfect Run, though. I even liked it! Maybe I'm just lucky?

I also remember having trouble with Tubular when I was younger, but I can't remember to which extent.

It's the Special World level with Wigglers, Bullet Bills and Hoppin' Flames. It's in a forest and requires you to use a Springboard once or twice.

I've always shared that sentiment as well. If Tubular went on longer and had more obstacles to avoid with the P-Balloon, I could see it ranking at the top for hard SMW levels. I think that finding the secret exit for Chocolate Island 2 is the most hideous trick in SMW.

Otherwise, I'd agree that the Perfect Run in the Grandmaster Galaxy stands as the most difficult level in the series for me. I honestly did not struggle that much with Champion's Road.
I've always hated most of the levels in The Lost Levels, as well as whatever SMW level is the one in the special world that is a forest with little flame guys all over the ground. Someone tell me which one that was.

i agree that the lost levels is some crazy stuff
All the ghost houses. I've never tried to platform in such unnerving situations. Like those spooky ghost circles. Why are they spinning around in circles all day? Why is one ghost always missing? How do they not get dizzy? There's so many -

OH MY GOD HOW ARE YOU ALIVE WITH SO LITTLE POLYGONS

NO, NOT MY HOUSE KEYS. I LEFT MY REFRIGERATOR ON

what are you
For me it's the last Stage in SM3DW. I needed around 400 Lives before beating the level even once.

About the 2D Games: I think, I had problems with the SB3 fast Airship inside the eighth world.
