Forgot to setup a warp = No 000, but Roy Koopa battle?

I have never encountered a glitch like this: I forgot to setup a warp in the level at all, but instead of teleporting to Level 000 I get teleported to whatever level Roy Koopa is.

Is this a LM bug? Note that I have only the Vanilla Game. I can't post the level unfortunately, but to put it simply, it is weird.
The screen exits are only set to 000 when entering a stage from the overworld. If screen A is set to roy's battle in level 001, and you go to level 002, screen A will still have roy's battle set as the screen exit unless explicitly overwritten by another screen exit object.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaait a minute.
Doesn't that mean I could use one sublevel A with one door that leads to different sublevels based on the level I enter sublevel A from?
