Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS

I love the fact that this patch is a balancing patch. It eliminates the possibility of a tier list forming in the immediate future. I can hear the members of Smash Back Room hanging themselves as we speak.

I don't have a problem with balance changes, but rather the lack of an official change log.
The changes aren't as drastic as I imagined and I agree with just a few of them. Mainly the changes with Luma no longer being able to attack while Rosalina is being grabbed (Always thought that was BS.) and just a bit more power to some of Meta Knights moves it seems. (Guy can't K.O to save his life on this game.) My problem isn't really with the updates but how frequently their updating this game. Game hasn't been out too long and we've gone through like three updates already? I suppose updates are better then no updates at all though. I just hope it doesn't become a regular thing.

That does make a lot of sense, though. Many balancing aspects about a game can't really be worked on until a game is released, so that a lot of data from users is available. Basically, with the older games, once they were released, they couldn't change anything in them, so if there was something that sucked, it kept sucking until the end of time. With the new Smash Bros. games they for the first time have the opportunity to rebalance the game through updates. Thanks to that they might eventually get to a point where this game becomes an everlasting fun experience with no obvious inferior or superior characters. If you think back to the older Smash Bros. games, there were always some characters that were inferior or superior to others. And at least with the Wii U version of Smash Bros. you don't even have to install the updates manually, so normally they shouldn't bother that much. Only on the 3DS the updates have to be installed manually.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
I think I found a new glitch, I haven't tested it myself yet, and i didn't get a chance to record it, due to it being only a split second and I didn't expect it.
I was playing classic on 9.0 again, because why not? I was on the retro stage with the water in the center, and fighting wii fit trainer. Wii fit trainer got knocked into the side off screen area to the right, where she stopped, did not try to come back after landing, used her hone ability, and teleported to the left off screen area, then did it again and went back to the right side and walked back onto the stage.

Wut.

That's normal, walking through the boundary in Balloon Fight will teleport you to the other side of the stage. If you get launched it's a KO though.

About the patch, pretty much everything has already been said, and I'm glad they are balancing the game. Having a game with 40+ playable characters where 2-4 dominate the scene is not fun. My main, Lucina, got nerfed a bit, which I don't really like, but I understand it's for balance reasons so I'm not unhappy about it.
Oh darnit.....how could I have never known that? lol
In all fairness, who would actually walk off the stage to test that anyway? xD

I've seen it mentioned in the loading screen protips quite a few times, usually when starting a match in that stage. Maybe you just got unlucky and the game decided to not warn you. Damn RNG. #wario{-_-"}

Also, I started playing the game and I must say, I really love the new Stage Builder. However, I wonder, is there stuff to be unlocked for it, like in Brawl? I think I remember seeing (non-moving) pass-through platforms in the Nintendo Direct that announced it, but I can't seem to make them in-game. Maybe I'm remembering wrong?
Those tips go by too fast to read sometimes, I probably missed it :P.

Not sure about stage builder, I remember seeing something like that in the nintendo direct too. Uggh can't wait for my smash bros to get here lolz

So some guy got a copy of Smash for Wii U that has all of the fighter models glitched up.

Poor kid, he keeps posting things like "PLZ SUM1 HALP". It's really hilarious actually.
Seems like bundles/orders for Smash Bros. are getting delayed and running out of stock. Many people in the UK like myself are yet to receive a dispatch email. I got an email an hour back saying the GC they where doing alongside Smash Bros. is getting delayed till 2nd Dec. I'm ok with that as it's only next tuesday but at the same time I wonder if that'll be the case with the actual bundle itself...
On the bright side I got my copy one day before release over here and after calling around multiple shops, one actually reserved a GCN adapter for us.
The others all said they did, but all 4 of them just sold our reserved ones because of the high demand, only this one was so kind to actually keep it reserved (and the people in it were n0ice).

Good for some I guess getting their hands on Smash and those adapters.

Got an email at like 1am today saying I won't get Smash Bros. Adapter bundle and my controller till December 19th. Not to fussed as Pokemon arrived today but also its mean I can have something to look forward to on Xmas.
Shulk's event match is complete bullshit. 1:30 to defeat three of the strongest enemies in the game? KO 30 Yoshis in 10 seconds and I'll say it's possible.

EDIT: And yes, I am on Easy here.
Let's milk Sunny Milk. Then she'll have enough money to fund Sunny Milk Real Estate.

git gud

I'm trying to clear all of them in hard mode and get the rewards, after all that is one of the challenges.
Just got the Wii U game yesterday, and my friend and I played it for hours. Using the 3DS as a controller actually works very well, which I wasn't expecting. The Smash Tour mode was fun, but it's not introduced very well, just kind of throwing you in to fend for yourself. Classic mode is significantly worse than in the 3DS version, consisting of about 3 fights and then the final boss. Almost every battle in Classic is an 8-man Smash as well, which got a bit old; I'd have preferred some more variety. All-Star with two people is quite fun, though. Finally, event mode is fun and extremely challenging. Just clearing the challenges isn't too much of an issue, but getting the special reward by clearing it fast enough can be very difficult, even if it doesn't sound too hard.

Overall, I'm very pleased with it, and it solidifies my belief that the Wii U version will be the definitive version of the game.
