Garbled placeholder materials on my models. Help!

Using Sketchup 8 (not pro), I've managaed to get this far in trying to replace Mario with Sonic's Sonic R model.

What am I doing wrong, and could anyone please help me with this?
I started hacking Mario 64 last night.

Here's what the model looks like in Sketchup.

Please and thank you to anyone willing to help me out in any form!
Life got a hold of me for a bit. I finally got back to work on this.

I separated textures into 32x32 .png files, and I've hit another
roadblock.

Suggestions?
Sorry to bump if this was fixed, but you can use only 2 32x32 textures for Mario's head.

Also it seems the faces of your model are facing the wrong way. Look inside the model and see what color the faces are on the inside. If they're purple, you're good. If they're white right-click the face and choose the option reverse faces. You may have to reposition the texture afterwards though.
OH YES.

Wait a second... you mean that while making a level, the good sides are the purple ones?!

No he mean't that the white sides are the good ones in an awkward way.

Actually, with a method I used, I could get up to 10 textures in there. And high poly models.

Actually, with a method I used, you can make 2 million dollars from your own home. It is so easy! Watch these simple steps that have made millionairs out of dozens of people before. If you watch this video until the end, it will change your life! I promise, no silly tricks or sudden costs.................
Alright. So I've made tiny baby footstep progress.

I made Sonic's head work by reducing the number of textures down to 2. Both 32x32. Now I'm using Skelux & Kaze's model importer to replace individual body parts on Mario. The torso worked perfectly.

See that black tube? That's the upper right portion of Sonic's arm. I don't care that it's out of place, I can edit that whenever I want. I just want it to have the texture, or be the right color, or be able to have Mario's arms back and be able to edit those somehow...

The importer gives me this message.

I don't know where to go from here. :(
Pardon me if I ask here, but:

How do I switch the textures to become the Mario's hair and how to I switch the textures to the animating Mario eyes?

Mario hair is just vertex coloring it doesn't use any hair, sadly I know not how to do that. Also I think kaze explained how the eyes worked in a different thread one time.
