Super Mario World but with all the vowels removed!

Standard

The original game we all know and love—Super Mario World—but this time; without any of the hassle of those pesky vowels. That's right! Virtually every vowel has been removed from the original game, which includes, but is not limited to: the opening "Nintendo" logo, the titlescreen, elements of the overworld, level names, etc.

Can be used by dedicated romhackers as a baserom of sorts!

I hope you all enjoy!

After several decades of long, tedious, and difficult work, I've finally gotten my magnum opus completed. It was an ambitious concept to work with, I know. Near the beginning I was told by many of my friends and family that I would never make it. That it was nearly impossible to remove all the vowels from Super Mario World. They told me I should just give up my hopes—that I should just let the vowels be. And for awhile...I believed them. I let the project sit, alone and dusty on my desktop for almost twenty years. I sunk into a depression. I became an alcoholic; hopeless addicted. It was the only way I could get to sleep at night without staying up for hours sobbing. Every night I would leave the bar after another hopeless drinking binge, and as I trudged my way back home through the dim alleys and dark streets, I saw them. The vowels. Those wife-murdering suckers would sit there on their billboards and their signs—laughing at me. Mocking me. They knew I had had my chance to eradicate them all from existence in the past...and I had let it slip through my fingers. It was during one of these walks home, though, that something changed in me. I'm not sure what it was that had just miraculously changed my mind. Maybe it was the years of seeing them laughing at me that had finally made me grow sick of it. Maybe it was those endless nights where I'd lay in bed, wondering what could have been. Maybe it was me being kicked out of the twenty-seventh bar that year—who could really know? It doesn't really matter, though. What matters is that I finally realized what needed to be done to bring my life back together, what I needed to pull the pieces of my life back together. I had hope. I knew what I had to do. I had to finish that project from almost thirty years in the past. The one that had haunted me for years and years...I needed to face it. It was the only way I could ever hope to have some semblance of sanity and order back in my life.

I sat down on that old, creaking computer chair. Wiping away all the dust and cobwebs that had accumulated over the long period of absence, I booted the ancient PC back up. And there, as it had always been—was the romfile. "Super Mario World but with all the vowels removed.smc" it read. Just the sight of it alone brought back a number of memories that had long been repressed. I shivered as I dragged the mouse over to the Lunar Magic icon. I got back to work. It was definitely a challenge at first. I wanted to give up, to just fall back into the safety net that had been my depression and the alcohol. But I knew I had to push on. So I worked; day in and day out. Countless GFX edits, countless testing periods.... Over time, the work started to become routine, again. A comforting monotony. The urges to leave the computer and head on over to the bar again came to less and less frequently as time went on, and before long—I had completely forgotten about them. I no longer needed the alcohol to sooth me, because...because I had a purpose again. Those vowels would get what they had coming to them. What they had had coming to them for over thirty years. I would prove my family wrong.

And I did.

I hope you all enjoy the result of all this hard work.
