The future of "very hard" hacks

Yoshis Strange Quest and Colossus definitey should be Very Hard. And even though its old, A Super Mario Thing.

Agreed on the first and on the last.
I didn't play Colossus, so I'd need atleast a second opinion.
All of Anikiti's hacks (though they are kinda borderline), all of the VIP Mario hacks, ASMWCP, Super Mario World Challenge and the New Mario World should all be there. Possibly TSRP too, but that's really only the special world.
Both Super Mario Infinity games (not sure if anyone's played these recently, tbh) should be Very Hard, if only for the criminally long late-game levels without multiple midpoints.

I'd only consider Rupture in Reality and Bowser's castle (and maybe some levels from the special world) as very hard. Other than that it's pretty doable, so hard is fine.

Super Challenge World should be changed to very hard.
Changed all VIP Hacks, some of Anikiti's hacks, The New Mario World, and Super Challenge World to very hard.

ASMWCP

What Najeraldo said pretty much. Only a small portion classifies as Very Hard. Going for an average, the hack is just hard.

TSRP

I recall this being kinda painful, but I'd need a second opinion before changing it.

Both Super Mario Infinity games

The fact tha design is flawed and that the levels are neverending doesn't make it "very hard". Please, get the difference between "designed is flawed" and "it's nicely design but extremly demanding".
If he's referring to the original TSRP, I don't have an opinion since I've never played it.

TSRPR, though, is hard, but certainly not extreme.

I'd still argue that Super Mario Infinity is very hard because its design is flawed. True, a hack can be very difficult due to unforgiving, but clever design, but it can also be tough for artificial reasons or flawed design. In either case, a no-tools player can be in for a miserable time. And seeing the main criterion for being given the Very Hard classification is a need for save state spam, I think the Infinity games definitely meet that requirement.

TSRPR has a few levels that are frustratingly hard, especially the final level with approximately 20 difficult rooms and only a single checkpoint inbetween. Not sure if that accounts for making the whole hack "very hard". It is a part of the main story, though, and therefore not really an optional level.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
TSRP is pretty much TSRPR but with most of the later levels being more difficult not having midpoints. Here's the original Bowser's Starship for reference. But if the Infinity games aren't getting switched then TSRP shouldn't either, because TSRP is easier than the Infinity games.

Also, it should be obvious, but JUMP belongs in Very Hard too. It's easily harder than any of the above hacks, but made more palatable through some of the ingame conveniences.
TSRP has its unfair side only in the special world. I don't think it's enough to tag the whole hack as very hard because of that.

I'd tag tsrp2r as very hard, because of length of the last levels (starting from world 7), which gets really annoying and frustrating. Couldn't finish it without savestates at all, maybe because it made me angry to finish it right away...
Bye.
Don't forget all the 1 tile jumps everywhere. HRRV is the same difficulty, but is much more forgiving in its late game in consideration to platforming.
I'd tag Mario in Neb's Land as Very Hard. Because Mirann said that it is hard than whatever the definition of "hard" is.

Option 3 use savestates lol
Just chiming in that Megaman 2 should not be used as a reference for difficulty. Instead, use New Super Luigi U, if at all possible. Megaman 2 is one of the easiest in the series - if you want to use a Megaman game as a reference, you'll want Zero 1 or X6, as parallels to JUMP and Bits and Pieces, respectively.

This is a thing that's happening, now. Achievements in old video games.
Thank you for the layout, Erik557.
Man, I wish this would've worked. Oh well.
If not for respect, but dramatic effect, take on the face of Guy Fawkes.
I'm going to vote Option 2.

It's a bit late now, the "Very Hard" cattagory has already been added.

I was thinking of voting not to have a very hard difficulty but I'd be in the monority by a long shot
