This site feels dark

Kind of hesitated making this thread since you might easily misunderstand what I'm saying with the title.

The site (in terms of appearance) feels very dark. Not that I'm complaining about this, as I'm probably only saying this because of how bright the Pennington C3 layout was from yesterday. It's honestly a shock to my eyes, only because of the sheer contrast between bright and dark. So it'll just take a day or two to adjust.

Have any of you here thought the same thing?
I feel personally relieved and refreshed. The candy scheme was nice but after a week it was giving me diabetes. And it was broken in my (admittedly bad) phone browser so it was literally a white background.
It's easily the best thing I've done
So why the empty numb?

Couldn't have said it better myself. I was actually looking forward to the dark scheme for quite some time now. It hurt my eyes for a while with the candy scheme on.

(I thought this was going to be a thread about our fucked up sense of humour)

I'm happy that link text-shadows are gone for those people that didnt specify text-shadows in their layouts. Made a lot of people's layouts look awkward and sometimes unreadable.

My first thought going back to this layout was "were the names at the top always bolded like that?" I prefer the dark scheme because i can browse at night and not hurt my eyes
ask me if i give a f*ck...
All I see around me is darkness

...but then my alarm goes off and I have to open my eyes and get out of bed. >=(
My layout has removed you.
RIP candy scheme :(
Your layout has been removed.
@leod: What do you mean RIP candy scheme? You can edit your profile and change the theme.
BANANA SLAMMA.
Castle scheme is the best scheme. The dark background gives it a nice retro aesthetic and makes the website feel cozy.
hello darkness my old friend

i've come to speak with you again
I had no problem with that. Maybe because i'm using the summer 2016 C3 scheme?

Also yeah, dark themes are eye-hurting for me. It happened on a derpboard i made a lot ago and i forced just one theme because " i feel like so".

And then i hate when morons don't adapt their post layout (i'm not talking about this site) and i usually disable them because i don't want to argue with them.

Light themes are for me.

Deal with it -.-
I personally didn't enjoy this C3's theme mainly because it was very bright and colorful. It's not that the theme looked bad in any kind of way, it's just that I prefer darker themes (such as the Halloween theme, which is what I use) as it is less straining on the eyes.

I understand that certain themes get enabled for a specific event, but I really think there should be an option to disable forced themes. Not everyone is a fan of them.
It's always a bit of a shock when the site's scheme reverts to normal after an event. But I actually really like the standard site scheme. I find the darkness much more appealing than the bright schemes most forums seem to use.

I actually feel a bit more relieved now. The candy scheme was alright on my end, but it was a tad bright and the forced link text-shadow made some people's layouts look awkward. I admit it's a bit of a shock to suddenly get back to SMWC's default scheme, but it feels much better personally.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Feel pretty much the same about it.

Later.
The Candy scheme wasn't all that pleasant to look at. I like the old theme better.
I usually turn brightness way down on monitors, so darker themes are usually better for me. I'd prefer my eyes not be spammed by so many photons.

There's a reason paper is white and monitors are black: they use light in different ways. Paper should minimize ink and monitors minimize bright lights.
I prefer white background and black text, because school brainwashing. (Microsoft Word, math, textbooks, etc.)
