If you mean do I enjoy making vanilla hacks, then yes. It gives me a challenge since I am used to working as a Choclate hacker.
Do I enjoy playing them? Depends on the level design and how well the Creator thought things through. However, having 0 changes other than the levels themselves and the overworld is definitely NOT my cup of tea.

I'll admit that a pure vanilla hack would be a nice break from all the pretentious "vanilla" hacks and levels that try to push the boundaries of what actually counts as vanilla as far as possible. I do prefer full chocolate hacks, though.

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
I've always felt there are no bad ideas, only bad execution. You can make a hack with whatever arbitrary restrictions you like, and it very well could end up fun and interesting. Some ideas are harder to implement correctly than others though, and I'd say a very vanilla hack would be moderately difficult. If you got the SMW feel down it certainly could work.
A pure vanilla hack with good design and some clever ideas will make it very likable in my eyes. I have been wanting to design one, similar to Return to Dinosaur Land, but designing it can be rather difficult if the design is not carefully planned out. Without planning, a bad execution of the level is the result and will result in me losing interest completely. Aiming for a SMW feel is the goal in any pure vanilla hack given the restrictions in designing them (hence why creativity is important, something that I am not always best at).
I like Vanilla hacks but i also like adding a few patches to fix some glitches or change a few features. nothing major. I mean for example, Silent bullet bills, fixed. Going through a pipe does not change the item being carried.

As for Map16, i do not feel that is not vanilla. My hack has invisible doors. Plus creating some custom details is always nice. Upside down munchers, blocks inside walls and ground are just nice aesthetics. Map16 to me is not braking a vanilla code and it is very easy to use.
They are pretty nostalgic, tough there aren't many that have no gfx, pallete, music, hex and map16 edits

My own Vanilla Hack Another Mario World uses some Map16 to avoid Cutoff and stuff
...Not really.

Vanilla hacks tend to stick way too close to the original SMW rather than say, the VLDC entries, in terms of design and creativity.
So outside of a few (Vanilla Twist, Lunar Legends etc) they all just mesh together and come off as incredibly samey.

A vanilla-ish hack has to really wow me for me to like it, honestly. Stuff like Gamma V's works don't interest me for this reason.

I am willing to go easy on it if it's a newbie's early work and the level design proves to be somewhat decent, however.

I much prefer either chocolate-esque hacks or those weird experimental hacks that are usually either janky af or "so bad, it's good" (see: most BR and JP hacks lol, some of JUMP's weirder and/or more absurdly difficult stages).

Seeing people go wild with their hobbies is the best.

I like it, because bring nostalgia, and you feel are playing New levels from super Mario world.

I was not planning make hacks for a while, so the third episode of the "o ninja negro" series will take a long time to make, and "Mario in neb's land 2" is cancelled.
I can count the amount of 100% vanilla hacks I played with my hand. I would definitely play it.

Very few have done it well, but if you want to give it a try then by all means, go for it! I'd be interested to see it!
Many people prefer vanilla hacks.
I would like it only if some levels use custom palettes or music. That'd be exciting.
